Curve Digital and Kuju merge to form 'major new British publisher'



Catalis acquires Curve Digital, creates UK games powerhouse

The Catalis Group, backed by Private Equity and the parent company of Kuju Entertainment and Testronic, has acquired leading independent games publisher and developer Curve Digital.

The agreement sees the creation of a new group – Curve Digital Entertainment – within Catalis, comprising:

• Curve Digital Publishing, the fast growing independent publisher on PC and console formats. London-based, it has just completed its most successful year to date. Curve has published acclaimed titles such as The Swindle, Pumped BMX+ and the Instant Indie compilations – and has a number of key titles lined up for release in 2016, including Cosmochoria, Action Henk and Hue.

• Kuju Entertainment, one of the UK’s leading ‘work for hire’ development companies, which encompasses the Zoe Mode and Headstrong Games studios. Kuju is working on titles for Ubisoft, Activision, Nintendo and other major publishers. Kuju also creates its own IP, whilst the Kuju Start-Ups division provides investment and support for the indie games sector.

This new UK games powerhouse is headed up by Catalis CEO Dominic Wheatley, who co-founded the famous ‘Britsoft’ publisher Eidos Interactive, which created the Tomb Raider franchise.

“Our acquisition of Curve Digital and merging them with Kuju means we have created the potential for a major new British games publisher, the first of its kind for many years.” said Wheatley. “It’s also good news for the UK indie games community to have a professional publishing partner who can take their titles to the international market.”

Jason Perkins, Managing Director at Curve Digital, added: “Curve’s unique publishing model and expertise within the indie space has enabled us to grow steadily year on year, but this move will enable us to accelerate our expansion.”

Stuart Dinsey, a major investor in Curve Digital at its formation, will be Chairman of the Curve Digital Entertainment group. ‘This is so exciting for all of us. We’re targeting business development across both Curve and Kuju.”

The Catalis Group also includes Testronic Laboratories, the leading QA, compliance and localization service provider.

We’re super excited to announce that our classic PS2 platformer Psychonauts is heading to PS4 this spring!

Psychonauts follows the story of a young psychic named Razputin in his quest to join an elite group of international psychic secret agents, the Psychonauts! He runs away from the circus and breaks into their secret training facility, Whispering Rock Psychic Summer Camp.

As he begins his training by psychically delving inside the consciousnesses of his tutors and those around him, he realizes all is not as it seems, and soon embarks upon a psychic odyssey through a variety of levels set inside the minds of misfits, monsters, and madmen!

You may have seen Psychonauts in the news a fair bit recently. Last month at PlayStation Experience we announced that Psychonauts in the Rhombus of Ruin would be coming exclusively to PlayStation VR in 2016, and for the last month we’ve been running a crowdfunding campaign to raise the funds to make Psychonauts 2. We’re happy to report that we are now 100% funded, so can officially announce that Psychonauts 2 will also be coming to PS4 in a few years time — that’s a whole lot of Psychonauts to look forward to!

Shiness unveils its playable characters with new screenshots

Shiness is a new Action-RPG developed by indie development studio Enigami. Travel through an enchanting yet hostile world where the lands of Mahera have become fragmented. The new series of screenshots unveiled today will tell you more about the game's five playable characters.

You play as Chado, a young and adventurous Waki able to communicate with a spirit from nature, the Shiness, and who masters the element of Earth. You will helped by Poky, an engineering genius able to repair anything mechanical, who is able to manipulate magnetic fields and electrical currents. Kayenne is a powerful Shelk warrior, who harnesses the psychic gif of Telekinesis; with this power, he may interact with the environment remotely, or paralyze enemies in battle. Askel is a fearsome mercenary, whose whip is destructive in combat, but is also useful during exploration to retrieve items normally out of reach. Finally, Rosalya use the Fire element to disperse darkness, reveal hidden items or enemies, or inflict heavy damage during combat.

Complementarity between the members of your team will play an important role, as much during exploration as in the dynamic, 1 versus 1 combats of Shiness. Once in the arena, it's up to you to adopt the best timing for chain punches, kicks, magic attacks and destructive combos. During these duels, your companions can intervene to replace the lead fighter, or help them when required. Task your teammates with healing you when your health is down or to cast a spell to boost your strength at the start of every fight, and wisely use the Elemental affinities of each characters to weaken your enemies.

International Publisher HR Games today announced that it has inked a PAL/European publishing and distribution agreement for the boxed and digital version of Games Workshop’s legendary Space Hulk: Ascension for the PS4 (PlayStation 4) gaming platform in 2016.

Square Enix Publishing Milestone Games in North America



Square Enix Announces Publishing Partnership With Milestone to Bring Racing Games to North America and Latin America

Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX interactive entertainment products in the Americas, today announced a publishing partnership with Milestone S.r.l, one of the world’s leading developers and publishers specializing in the racing genre, to bring titles to North America and Latin America.

The multi-title agreement with the Italian studio starts with the March 15 release of Milestone’s rally simulator Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO, a game that launches players into the life of Sébastien Loeb, one of the most iconic figures in the history of rally. Sébastien Loeb Rally EVO will be available for Xbox One, the all-in-one games and entertainment system, PlayStation 4 and Windows PC/Steam.



















Per the terms of the agreement, Milestone will manage all aspects of game development, while Square Enix will oversee distribution and marketing in both territories. Additional Milestone racing games are scheduled to release through Square Enix in 2016.

Of course, every Minecraft player learns essential life-skills like tree-punching and good Creeper-defence but, when used in the right way, Minecraft can help people around the world to learn lots more.

Over the past few years, educators around the world have been using Minecraft to explore subjects that might not spring to mind when you think of our block-based game. Since 2011, MinecraftEdu - a version of Minecraft built for the classroom - has been used in over 40 countries. Lots of people have learned loads of things since then.

Microsoft has acquired MinecraftEdu and is building upon its proven success to create a new version of Minecraft that’s dedicated to learning. The new title will be available as a free trial this summer. All existing MinecraftEdu customers will get the first year of Minecraft: Education Edition free of charge.

It’s going to be a collaborative thing. Development of Minecraft: Education Edition will be shaped by a community of educators thanks to http://education.minecraft.net/ . The site will host lesson plans and give Minecraft: Education Edition users somewhere to discuss ideas and provide feedback. We know teachers can be a rowdy bunch, so we’re looking into the best ways to moderate the forums as I type. Wish us luck.

Your Design, Their Fate: Prison Architect Sentenced to Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360


Publisher and developer Double Eleven and Introversion Software revealed that the critically acclaimed and best-selling Prison Architect will be released into the world as a well-adjusted member of society on the Xbox One, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4 this Spring for $29.99. The new console editions will host a variety of exclusive features and have been tailored to each platform’s unique controller style. Prison Architect, released last October for PC, has to date sold more than 1.5 million copies and currently hosts an impressive 83 percent on Metacritic.com.

Unique to the coming Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Xbox 360 editions of Prison Architect is the Prison Warden Mode, which allows players to jump in and take control of one of several pre-built prisons right away to get into the action faster. Also new to the console editions is the World of Wardens, a feature that grants you the ability to share your prisons online and try your hand at governing prisons that others have uploaded. Additionally, Double Eleven have put their own touch on each of these editions, creating a unique Prison Architect experience for each platform.

In Prison Architect, players build and manage their own maximum security prison built to hold the most hardened of criminals. The console editions include a fully-fledged story mode and sandbox mode with entirely new in-game community features allowing players to build, maintain and share their maximum security prisons with the touch of a button.

  《层层恐惧(Layers of Fear)》是由Bloober Team所开发的一款第一人称恐怖游戏,此前该作品曾登陆XBOX One和PC平台,而日前官方确认该作品还将登陆PS4平台。此外本作PS4版将于2016年2月16日发售,游戏预告片也已经放出,下面就请玩家们一起来欣赏一下。
