Classic JRPG-inspired Legrand Legacy launches January 24 for PC, Q1 2019 for PS4, Xbox One, and Switch

Legrand Legacy: Tale of the Fatebounds, described by publisher Another Indie and developer Semisoft as a “nostalgic love letter to classic JRPGs,” will launch for PC via Steam on January 24, 2018, followed by PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Switch in Q1 2019. It will cost $24.99 and feature English, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Korean, and Russian language support.

Here’s an overview of the game, via Another Indie:

n the war-torn land of Legrand, a slave named Finn will rise from humble roots to possibly becoming a savior. After Finn exhibits powers beyond his control in the gladiator arena, an old man buys his freedom. Together they journey to save the man’s daughter, which leads them to a prophecy and a greater quest: to save Legrand from the second coming of a conflict that nearly destroyed the world in times long past.

Despite the looming darkness, Legrand is a thriving realm depicted in an art style delicately balancing eastern and western oil paintings. As Finn explores the beautiful world of Legrand he will learn the backstories of allies, uncover side quests, go fishing, and engage in fencing competitions in addition to intense hack and slash battles.

Exploiting enemies’ weaknesses and unleashing powerful attacks is key for victory. Craft weapons and unlock new magic abilities as the enemies become fiercer. When the stakes are at their highest, take to the battlefield with an army and conquer foes in tactical warfare.

By recruiting citizens of Legrand to join his party, Finn can upgrade his headquarters, Dumville Castle. As his party expands, Finn gains the services of blacksmiths, shopkeepers, and others that aid his journey. Can Finn and his companions gather the strength they’ll need before the world falls to its impending doom?

Omen of Sorrow time-limited demo launches December 8

   


AOne Games will release a demo for Omen of Sorrow, its PlayStation 4-exclusive classic horror-themed fighting game, via the PlayStation Store on December 8 at 10:00 p.m. PT / December 9 at 1:00 a.m. ET, the developer announced. But it will only be playable until December 11.

The demo will feature playable characters Zafkiel and Gabriel on a new stage, and support both local multiplayer and single-player modes.

“This is the first time the game will be released onto the wild, outside of the controlled environment of an event,” said AOne Games executive producer Max Kubler in a press release. “It’s a daunting proposal, but we strongly believe that once players get their hands on the game, they’ll be able to appreciate the effort we’ve put into all the subtle details that can’t be conveyed through gameplay videos such as input handling, and the overall flow of combat.”

Omen of Sorrow will launch for PlayStation 4 in 2018.

Brawlout launches December 19 for Switch, early 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One

   


Brawlout, the “party platform fighter” currently available for PC (Steam), will launch digitally for Switch on December 19, and for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2018, developer Angry Mob Games announced. It will cost $19.99.

The studio also announced that Juan from DrinkBox Studios’ Guacamelee! will join Brawlout as a playable fighter, complete with his moveset from the game, including “Rooster Uprecut,” “Frog Slam,” and “Grapple.”

Brawlout packs a punch with couch and online play modes, blending platform fighter mechanics and traditional fighting game play into a stylish and fluid battle royale. Rather than slow-paced defensive battles, Brawlout goes all-out with the lightning-fast aerobatics which platform fighters are famous for. With wavedashing, a free-form combat system, and the Rage Meter at the player’s disposal, each battle should be a combo-bonanza!

There are currently six original characters and two popular indie characters to choose from that allow for varied play styles. Mega Man-inspired roguelike platformer 20XX coming to PS4 in early 2018

20XX, a roguelike platformer inspired by Mega Man which first launched for PC in August, is coming to PlayStation 4 in early 2018, developers Batterystaple Games and Fire Hose Games announced.

The Forest for PS4 launches in 2018

   


The PlayStation 4 version of The Forest, which was first announced in 2014, will launch in 2018, developer Endnight Games announced.

In The Forest, players will build a camp (or a large oceanside fortress), craft weapons from sticks and stones, and fight to stay alive against a vicious enemy force. It is playable in both single-player and cooperative multiplayer with friends.

The Forest is currently available for PC via Steam as an Early Access title.

  今(9)日于「雷亚嘉年华-RayarkCon 2017」中,雷亚游戏公开 PS4 新作《DEEMO -Reborn-(暂称)》开发中的游戏画面,并且预计将在 2019 年推出。 此外也同步公开了《DEEMO》之后的更新。

  游戏总监李勇霆(Tony)表示,《DEEMO》将新增更多的 Extra 谱面来提供玩家挑战,并且加入更多的信息,玩家与游戏中的小女孩 Alice 将带来更多的互动。 此外像是 NS 版本以及 PSV 版本都会陆续更新,不过由于版本众多的关系,所以要请玩家耐心等候。

  另外,雷亚资深游戏企划赖盈瑞(Rick)也在现场同步公开 PS4 新作《DEEMO -Reborn-(暂称)》目前开发中的画面与游玩过程,让玩家抢先目睹在 PSVR 虚拟现实模式中,以全景视角在《DEEMO -Reborn-(暂称) 》古堡中探索乐谱的过程,将《DEEMO》世界 2D 绘本的氛围,转变为栩栩如生的次世代 3D 画面。

  雷亚游戏在 12 月 9 日晚间于 Neo Studio 举办「雷亚嘉年华 - RayarkCon 2017」,展现已对外公布之各项目的最新进度,并公布许多最新消息。

  今年的音乐表演阵容相较往年更加庞大,雷亚组织了一个交响乐团,首度于现场结合交响乐和电子乐,搭配声光效果打造雷亚游戏的极致舞台。

  在总长三小时的「雷亚嘉年华 - RayarkCon 2017」活动中,雷亚官方以编制超过二十人的交响乐团搭配歌手、独奏家和 DJ 等,演出雷亚作品中的经典乐曲,更陆续揭露各项项目的最新进度。 整场活动交错音乐表演与新作发表,搭配华丽的光影互动效果,将内容呈现给所有现场观众。

交响乐团与电子乐的融合

  本次活动的音乐总筹为《DEEMO》、《Sdorica》音乐作曲家巨彦博,以交响乐团编排多样的曲目,搭配浮空投影的三维效果,演出华丽的听觉与视觉。

  今年的音乐表演中,多位独奏(独唱)家也为整场活动增添不少色彩。 除了巨彦博身兼钢琴独奏与指挥外,日本歌手 THE SxPLAY(菅原纱由理)与小提琴独奏家廖柏雅、声乐家连筱筠及吉他手 Yichen 等,都为现场带来精彩的表演。

  上半场音乐表演皆为现场交响乐团搭配独奏家的演出,让现场观众彷佛置身音乐厅观看表演。 活动一开场,就以《Sdorica -sunset-》磅礡浩瀚的音乐开场,引领大家进入这款游戏中奇幻缤纷的世界,而下段《DEEMO》的音乐表演中,动人的旋律与回荡在整个会场的钢琴声,让全场感受游戏中角色间感动人心的故事剧情。

  活动到了下半场,音乐表演更趋激昂,在最后的半小时中,当雷亚音乐团队成员 Ice、KIVΛ于台上进行《Cytus》曲目的 DJ 表演时,乐团于两侧搭配电子乐现场演奏,让电子乐与交响乐结合,气氛热烈且欢呼声不断。

  除了作为活动压轴即将上市的《Cytus II》之外,雷亚各项目制作人也在本次活动中,揭露游戏最新进度,包含《Sdorica -sunset-》、《Soul of Eden》、《DEEMO》 3.2 更新内容、次世代主机新作《 DEEMO -Reborn-(暂称)》及与信仰游戏合作的项目《Project MO(暂称)》。

细说策略 RPG《Sdorica -sunset-》游戏设计轨迹

  《Sdorica -sunset-》以全球首次公开播放的完整游戏片头动画开场,搭配主题曲〈Sdorica "The Story Unfolds"〉,揭开游戏主要面貌。 制作人谢昌晏从介绍《Sdorica -sunset-》世界建构的历程开始,到不同场景地貌、种族文化及角色间的纠葛,直至故事主轴发展设计过程。

  现场更以游戏中最新战斗影片,详细解说游戏核心战斗的设计理念。 本作以策略回合制战斗为基底,加上开战前队伍编成、战斗中情势分析,辅以操作技巧三者来进行脑力的激荡。 期望就算在不断更新内容的长时间运营后,还能让玩家持续保有对游戏的新鲜感的核心玩法。

  随着最新预告影片公开,谢昌晏也在发表的最后公布《Sdorica -sunset-》将于明年春季正式全球上市,请玩家持续关注游戏的最新消息。

实时竞技行动游戏《Soul of Eden》改头换面崭新登场

  同样在活动中公开将于 2018 年上市的另一款游戏为《Soul of Eden》,由制作人林昱廷及游戏企划刘庭亦一同上台发表,以崭新的美术风格,介绍给全世界的玩家。

  两人从 2016 年底进行的万人封闭测试开始,叙述项目透过测试数据分析,演绎成场景与角色的变化,最后带入游戏的玩法策略介绍。 除介绍游戏中四大种族基本性能和战术差异,更介绍了各种族中具有特色的英雄单位与法术效果。 林昱廷强调,这是雷亚首次尝试实时竞技类的游戏,期待结合实时战略与单位对战的玩法,可以让玩家百玩不腻。

《DEEMO》3.2 版即将释出 次世代主机新作 2019 年问世

  《DEEMO》也在活动中公布 3.2 版即将更新的消息,以「Funkot Collection」、「Feryquitous Collection」及「M2U x Nicode Collection 2」三款曲包为主,三款曲包都各具特色,将在近期内推出,预计农历年前可玩到。

由学生自制游戏进化 冒险解谜新作《Project MO》

  《Project MO(暂称)》是雷亚游戏与信仰游戏合作的项目,由雷亚游戏总监李勇霆与信仰游戏共同创办人侯景议一同上台揭开这款游戏的神秘面纱。

  游戏的美术以像素风格为主,是一款充满想象力的游戏。 除神秘的故事背景外,玩家在游戏中藉由一只叫做 MO 的青绿色不明生物,一同在实验场里探险与研究不为人知的秘密。 侯景议更透露游戏游玩方式以「移动」+「跳跃」+「控制」的结合方式,而「控制」类似寄生的概念,可以寄生在游戏中人物的脑中,探索游戏的剧情发展。

  信仰游戏为一群南台科大多媒体与计算机娱乐科学系 2016 年毕业学生们所创,李勇霆在台上表示,游戏制作过程中雷亚将担任监制的角色,传承制作与市场经验,与信仰游戏团队一同在 2018 年,将最好的作品呈现给所有玩家, 也希望能透过这样的合作,找到一个产学延续更稳健的做法。

  DJ 表演尾声时,影片画面搭配全新的音乐游戏游玩接口,一个个闪烁的拍点在点击后散出彩色光芒,暗示了新游戏即将诞生在雷亚玩家面前。

  在音乐表演结束的当下,屏幕开始播放雷亚最新音乐游戏《Cytus II》预告影片,画面最后停留在 2018 年 1 月,制作人咕噜上台,宣布《Cytus II》即将于明年一月上市,现场气氛达到最高潮。
