Among the Sleep Coming to PS4
Hi, everyone! My name is Kristina and I work at Krillbite Studio. We’re a small game developer from Norway. We are so happy to announce that Among the Sleep is coming to PS4 on December 10th!
We have received a lot of attention for the story in our game. Among the Sleep is a psychological horror game where you play as a two year old child. You get to experience the world through the eyes of a toddler with a vivid imagination that could easily scare your pants off. We wanted to create an atmospheric horror game with an eerie feeling of helplessness.
We are bringing Among the Sleep from PC to PS4 and it’s taken a while. Wonder why? It was a lot of technical work.
The process required a conversion of our game engine, Unity. This project has been moved from Unity 3.0, to 3.5 and so forth all the way up to the most recent version 5.2. We wanted the game to look the best and work perfectly with PS4. We had to redo the lightmapped levels and we had to rebake everything, which is fancy developer speak for fixing lights and putting it all together.
Another time-consuming issue with conversion was related to the physics engine used in the game. Unity uses Nvidia PhysX which has been completely redone in the newer versions of Unity. We encountered a lot of weird and funny bugs because of this. We saw chairs floating and doing 360s as you grabbed them, and apples flying hundreds of kilometres an hour. Among the Sleep was actually quite fun with fruit flying around randomly, but it sort of broke the atmosphere so we made the apples go back to their fruitbowl.
One of the coolest things in the PlayStation version of the game is the full audio-visual upgrade — Among the Sleep now has even better graphics and an even better sound experience. We think frame rate is an essential part of a good game experience and have worked hard to get the game to run at a proper 60 frames per second. This was probably the biggest part of the upgrade and it makes for a super smooth experience and does a lot for immersion!
We are a young studio and we started making this game in school. We made a lot of strange stuff and code at the beginning of the project that has been coming back to bite us in our behinds during the development process! But we have also learned so much that will help us make our next experience much smoother!
We are so proud of the PS4 version of the game and can’t wait for you to get your hands on it! You guys will be one of the first to be able to experience the commentary edition! The PC community have given us so much love for this horror game and we hope you will enjoy this even more polished version of the game this holiday!

Shoot ’em up Kromaia Omega Coming to PS4 this Fall
Rising Star Games and Kraken Empire to Release Kromaia Ω on PS4TM System This Fall
Rising Star Games today announced that they have partnered with Spain-based developer, Kraken Empire to release a physical boxed edition and digital edition of the highly-stylized shoot 'em up (shmup) game, Kromaia Ω, on the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system this fall.
Kromaia Ω is a highly-immersive shmup; a journey that is quite unlike any other that mixes technology and myth for an innovative gameplay experience. Players will explore new worlds protected by giant god-like guardians, filled with ancient temple ruins, and littered with puzzles to solve and treasures to collect.
A truly unique adventure, Kromaia's approach to gameplay looks to bring new life to the shmup genre. Providing players with full 360˚ freedom to fly, spin, and shoot changes the traditional style of arcade shmups significantly. Combine this with several ultra-maneuverable Armors (pilotable ships/vessels), all with different attributes, and a wide range of ancient, alien worlds to explore, and players have a game that changes the genre forever.
Kromaia Ω Features
• Interact with hundreds of physical objects, like massive asteroids, ancient temple ruins, puzzles, treasure, and fight dozens of on-screen enemies at once
• Highly destructible worlds with their own rules and law of physics
• Adaptive AI - Artificial intelligence based on independent simple brains that cooperate creating emergent behaviors
• Pilot several different Armors, each with unique weapons, attributes, and philosophies, plus an all-new armor exclusive to Kromaia Ω
• Multiple gameplay modes including "Story," "Score Attack," and new “Pure Mode”
• Four levels of difficulty to test players of all skill levels
• Online leaderboards to show the rest of the shmup world you mean business
• Two-player local co-op that let’s one player pilot while the other takes control of the weapon systems
Both physical and digital editions of Kromaia Ω will be released on PS4™ this fall. For more information and insight on the story and lore of Kromaia, please visit the official micro-site: krakenempire.com/kromaia
Syndrome Announced ~ Survival Horror from Camel 101 & Bigmoom
Classic Survival Horror Makes a Comeback in Syndrome
You wake up on a spaceship, dazed and confused from the effects of cryosleep, and begin to search for the rest of the crew. Where could they have gone? All too suddenly, you discover that most of them are dead, and those still alive are... changed.
With Syndrome, Camel 101 takes first person survival horror back to its roots. In the dark confines of the ship, defending yourself is difficult and not always possible. There are a few weapons scattered about, but nowhere near enough ammunition to deal with all the transformed monstrosities.
To survive and uncover the events that took place while you were asleep, you can’t always face your enemies head on; sometimes hiding and breathing as noiselessly as possible is your best course of action.
Careful resource management is a key part of Syndrome, but so is learning your enemies’ behavior. What will attract their attention? What will give you a few precious seconds to pass by undetected? Take note―each misstep could be deadly.
Main Features
• Claustrophobic horror - Countless threats, both physical and psychological, await inside the ship.
• Fight or flee - Use weapons and ammo wisely, as they are in limited supply.
• Eerie exploration - There’s plenty to discover if you take a moment to search your surroundings.
• Nothing is what it seems - It’s up to you to find out what’s really going on aboard the ship.
• Reactive enemies - Cause a stir or make some noise and they’ll pick up on your location.
• Oculus Rift support - Experience total immersion with Syndrome in VR.
Camel 101 is pleased to partner with Bigmoon Entertainment on Syndrome, out Q2 2016 for Windows PC, Xbox One, PS4, Mac, and Linux.
