First Chapter of King's Quest Now Available, Launch Trailer



   














The Debut Chapter of King's Quest from Sierra is Now Available

Today Sierra, part of Activision Publishing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision Blizzard, released the first chapter in its new reimagining of one of adventure gaming’s most treasured franchises, King’s Quest. Titled King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember, this debut chapter is now available as a digital download in Europe on Windows PC via Steam. It will be available later today for Xbox One and Xbox 360 on the Xbox Games Store and it will be available tomorrow on the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 computer entertainment systems through the PlayStation Store.

Players may also purchase King’s Quest: The Complete Collection , a bundle containing all five chapters of the new King’s Quest along with an exclusive bonus playable story epilogue*on the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store and Steam. Alternately, those who buy King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember individually at launch can choose to purchase the King’s Quest Season Pass, securing their access to the remaining four chapters of the game once available, but not the bonus epilogue.

Developed by The Odd Gentlemen, an independent studio with a talent for crafting fantastical tales, characters and worlds, the new King’s Quest rekindles the classic charm and curiosity that has captivated fans of this family-friendly series for over 30 years. As an aging King Graham looks back on a life of heroic adventure with his precocious granddaughter, Gwendolyn, players will be able to experience first-hand the unforgettable puzzles, places and personalities of his greatest untold stories. The first passage in a five-chapter journey, King’s Quest: A Knight to Remember unfolds on Graham’s early days as a bright-eyed teen in Daventry, competing in a contest of wit and valour for a knighthood in King Edward’s royal court.

“Today is a new beginning, both for those of us who grew up with the King’s Quest games that Roberta Williams and Sierra Entertainment created, as well as for those who are visiting Daventry for the very first time,” said Matt Korba, President and Creative Director of The Odd Gentlemen. “We hope we’ve made something that feels special for everyone as we turn together to a new page in Graham’s legend.”

Lab Zero and 505 Games Bring You Indivisible

Since we announced Indivisible at Anime Expo earlier this month, Lab Zero has been anxiously awaiting to reveal our publishing partner, 505 Games. They’ve been fantastic to work with so far, and joining their line-up of great games like ABZÛ and ADR1FT is pretty exciting, too!

While our arrangement may bear some passing similarity to recent crowdfunding / publisher tie-ups, I believe the progressive relationship between Lab Zero and 505 Games is the next evolution in crowdfunding partnerships.

So let’s dive into the details a bit.

Currently, Lab Zero is developing a playable prototype for Indivisible, funded by 505 Games. Once that prototype is complete, we’ll release that to the public and launch a crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo in September to fund the full game. If we meet or exceed our goal, 505 will contribute the remaining development budget, and full production will begin in earnest.

So, up until the initial goal, 505 Games will effectively be matching your contributions. And the more money the Indiegogo campaign raises, the better the game gets, and the better the deal is for Lab Zero.

To be clear, this isn’t a campaign to “gauge interest” – Indivisible represents a more equitable funding split, where your support directly influences not only the game, but also the post-release benefits Lab Zero receives. Indivisible will not happen if we don’t hit our goal. But should the campaign succeed, Lab Zero will have a better outcome than we would’ve gotten through a more traditional publishing deal – that’s the risk we took, and we feel it’s a worthwhile tradeoff.

Lab Zero has learned a lot from our previous Indiegogo campaign, and so we expect that to go more smoothly this time around, especially when it comes to manufacturing and shipping physical rewards. And, perhaps most importantly, thanks to 505’s involvement we’ll be able to offer a physical release of Indivisible on the platform of your choice.

In addition to physical versions of the game, we’re cooking up some great physical rewards we’re pretty happy with. For example... this baby tapir plush.

So, yeah – we’re excited.

Red Ash Development is Go!! But How?

It's official: “Red Ash: The KalKanon Incident” is a GO for full development, along with ports to PlayStation 4 AND Xbox One!

We know this is sudden news. Are you surprised? How have we decided to develop the game before the Kickstarter campaign finishes? Well, that’s thanks to the support of Fuze Entertainment, who we’ll introduce now.

Fuze Entertainment Introduction!

Fuze Entertainment is a Chinese digital entertainment company engaged in production of console hardware as well as sales of console games.

Fuze is based around Chinese game industry pioneer Wang Feng, and was co-founded with partners Huawei, Nvidia, and Microsoft Xbox.

Fuze has established partnerships with major console game publishers to bring AAA titles to the Chinese market, and have made it their mission to bring the highest quality game experiences to gamers around the world.

We said it before: we have been working very hard behind-the-scenes for Red Ash! Alongside our Kickstarter campaign, we’ve been in negotiations with hardware makers and development partners, keeping your feedback and comments in mind. We hoped by introducing the world setting, art documents, creators involved, our latest prototype, and more, we could convey the charm of Red Ash. And it seems like that work has paid off with Fuze Entertainment deciding to join your ranks as backers, in a major way!

What happens to Red Ash now?

1. First off, the contribution of Fuze is a done deal. We can officially confirm that "The KalKanon Incident” will be developed to completion, with the initial goals for game content (8 hours), along with ports to BOTH PlayStation 4 and Xbox One!

2. The rights to Red Ash will be retained by comcept. We're excited to find such a great partner in Fuze who believes in our vision in its pure form. In addition, comcept will retain rights to creative discretion and decisions in game development.

What happens to Kickstarter?

The Kickstarter campaign is going 100% towards more content! Consider your pledge a contribution to stretch goals from here on out.

Exactly what are those stretch goals? We're sorry to say that will have to wait a little while longer! Like we said, we're very busy with many behind-the-scenes things over here, and we apologize if you feel left in the dark. As you can see, the things we have brewing that are keeping us occupied are BIG, and all for the purpose of getting you Red Ash in its biggest, bestest form. That's the reason we're less communicative than we'd like to be!

Team17 Reveal Worms WMD (Xbox One, PC) and Worms 4 (Mobile)

Games industry veteran Team17 today announced two new and exciting additions to its hugely successful Worms series which will be unveiled at this year’s Gamescom in Cologne, Germany.

Mickey Torode, Team17’s Marketing Director said, “2015 is a special year for us as it marks both Worms 20th birthday and Team17’s 25th anniversary. Moving into 2016, dubbed “The year of the Worm”, will mark the start of the celebrations of 21 Years of Worms”

Worms WMD features a fresh, brand new look 2D cartoon-inspired worm as well as gorgeous hand drawn landscapes. For the first time ever players will be able to use exciting new vehicles and even enter buildings which will add new strategic elements of gameplay to the traditional wormy warfare.

Worms WMD will be heading to Xbox One and PC in 2016 but Team17 are excited to be showing the game at this year’s Gamescom to allow fans an early look at just some of what is to come! Attendees will be able to get an exclusive first hands-on with the explosive game at Team17’s booth in Hall 10.1 throughout Thursday 6th August – Sunday 9th August.

Team17 will also be showing a variety of games from their indie label which will be available to play throughout the show including Beyond Eyes, Sheltered, Strength of the Sword: Ultimate, Penarium and Team17 developed title The Escapists The Walking Dead.

In other Worms’ news, Team17 have also today announced the forthcoming arrival of Worms 4 on mobile!

Worms 4 is the definitive handheld Worms experience featuring an all new enriched look and improved design for mobile featuring smaller landscapes, smaller teams and shorter match lengths making action packed battles easily doable whilst on the go.

Players will be able to take part in turn-based synchronous online multiplayer matches played out in real time, battle their way through 80 single player missions, collect over a hundred weapon upgrades and duel across 5 different themes.

Worms 4 is due for release on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch in August 2015.

Worms WMD is due for release on Xbox One and PC in early 2016.

We Happy Few coming to Xbox One!

Hello all,

We are delighted to announce that We Happy Few will make its console debut to the Xbox One next year and in the Game Preview program this holiday!

In case you missed the latest trailer we revealed at Gamescom, here it is.

We also prepared a little FAQ for any questions you may have:

• When will WHF be available on Xbox One?

This holiday season in the Xbox Game Preview program, the released game will come out next year.

• How much will it cost?

Same as PC

• What about PS4?

At the moment we are focusing on the PC and Xbox version. We are a small team and we want to take our time working on the quality of the game first and foremost.

• Can I change my Kickstarter pledge to an Xbox version?

Unfortunately no, the Kickstarter was exclusively for PC. We would have loved to change your pledge, but we'd have to raise the price of the tier. If you haven’t backed us yet and wish to get the Xbox version, we suggest you wait until it becomes available on the Xbox Game Preview program this holiday season.
