What is Funcom's New Game 'The Park'? This Video Will Tell You

Earlier this year, independent game development studio Funcom announced it was working on 'The Park', a psychological horror experience and its first single-player game in almost ten years. A short, but intense experience, 'The Park' puts players into the shoes of Lorraine, a mother whose son goes missing in a mysterious and terrifying theme park.

This new video offers both a glimpse behind the scenes at Funcom as well as the first-ever released gameplay footage showing 'The Park' in action. Creative Director Joel Bylos, Art Director Gavin Whelan and Audio Director Simon Poole takes time to explain what 'The Park' is all about and what players can expect to see and do once they step through the gates of Atlantic Island Park. Focusing entirely on atmosphere, exploration and a strong narrative, 'The Park' draws inspiration from games such as 'Gone Home', 'Dear Esther' and 'The Vanishing of Ethan Carter'.

"For the last ten years, Funcom has been focused on making massively multiplayer online games, so 'The Park' is our first single-player experience in a long time," says Creative Director Joel Bylos. "It has been an incredibly fun and rewarding process working on 'The Park'. What initially started out as a prototype and a way for us to learn new development tools, has evolved into a short and intense psychological horror experience which we are all very excited to share with gamers out there."

　　FUNCOM 今日宣布，第一人称心理恐怖新作《惊惧乐园（暂译，THE PARK）》将于 10 月 27 日在 PC 平台推出，游戏设定在一处有着黑暗秘密的游乐园中，等着玩家去探险。

　　FUNCOM 表示，即日起《惊惧乐园》在 Steam、 GamersGate、 Green Man Gaming 等平台开放预购，预购促销价格为 9.99 美元。游戏是以在线游戏《神秘世界》的世界观为背景所开发的单机游戏，若是《神秘世界》的玩家购买《惊惧乐园》将会获得可以在《神秘世界》使用的几项独特道具，包括《惊惧乐园》中出现的恐怖花栗鼠杀手套装。

　　《惊惧乐园》创意总监 Joel Bylos 表示，《惊惧乐园》主要是以心理上的恐怖为诉求，透过说故事的方式与探索的过程来营造紧张与不安感，他们尝试讲述一个恐怖与深层情感的故事，让玩家在万圣节期间能够拥有不同的惊恐游戏体验。

Funcom's new horror game 'The Park' Launching This Halloween

Funcom announced today that its first-person psychological horror experience 'The Park' will be released for the Windows PC on October 27th this year. 'The Park' is set in an amusement park where a dark and sinister secret is just waiting to be uncovered.

Starting today, the game will be available for pre-order on Steam, GamersGate and Green Man Gaming for the promotional price of 9.99 USD. 'The Park' is a fully standalone single-player game set within 'The Secret World' universe - Funcom's modern-day myths and mysteries massively multiplayer online game. As a special treat for players of 'The Secret World', purchase of 'The Park' will include several unique items that can be used in the MMO, including the terrifying Chipmunk Killer costume shown in the key art image for 'The Park'.

《XCOM》制作人新作《混沌重生 Chaos Reborn》26 日正式上市

　　由《XCOM》制作人 Julian Gollop 所研发回合制策略游戏《混沌重生（暂译，原名：Chaos Reborn）》即将于 10 月 26 日在 Steam 平台上市。

　　《混沌重生》从去年 12 月在 Steam 平台展开抢先体验后，目前获得 87% 为好评的「特别好评」评价；游戏故事背景描述「神（Gods）」以具有法力的礼物给予力量和不朽，不久后却因「人类」的腐化和贪婪使王国陷入冲突、释放出混沌的力量；凶猛的怪兽被召唤到人类的领土，强大的法术扭曲了景色，最后，世界分裂成许多岛屿。

Funcom's new horror game 'The Park' now available

A day at the park... a lost teddy bear... a missing child. So begins the story of Lorraine, a mother that must face every parent's worst nightmare when her son goes missing in Atlantic Island Park. While amusement parks should be happy places, the one you visit in 'The Park' is anything but. Freak accidents, grotesque killings and ghostly hauntings have inspired many sensational headlines, and locals worry that the park is far from done claiming innocent lives.

Funcom's first-single player experience in almost ten years, 'The Park', launched on Windows PC today and is now available for purchase on Steam, Humble Store, Green Man Gaming and GamersGate at a 23% promotional discount ($9.99). 'The Park' is a one to two hour adventure focusing on intense storytelling and exploration instead of combat and action. Players must explore the dilapidated amusement park and face panic and paranoia as they progress through a narrative written and created by an award-winning team of storytellers.

Book Four arrives on Steam, GOG and Humble this Thursday, December 3rd. This update also includes the full Unity 5 engine overhaul, which brings a ton of changes, optimisations and graphical upgrades to the first three episodes.

Black Desert Online Closed Beta Registration Now Available

Registration Now Open for Black Desert Online's First Closed Beta

Daum Games has just opened Beta sign-ups for Black Desert Online on the official website. Players can register here!

The first Closed Beta will start on Wednesday, December 16th at 07:00 a.m. UTC and end Tuesday, December 22nd at the same time.

Registration will remain open until 8 a.m. UTC on December 9th. Participants who have been chosen will receive an email with the good news. Once registration is closed, details concerning the exact date players can begin downloading the game will be announced.

Players who have pre-purchased the Conqueror's package will automatically be able to participate and do not need to re-register.

Some features players can expect in the first Closed Beta test

• Improved character customization, including 30 new skin tones, 40 new hair colors, new beards, and a bald option for male characters

• Improved balance of character classes

• Improved weather cycles, including darker and occasionally stormy nights and lanterns that can be purchased from NPCs to help players in the dark

• Newly enabled features such as the much requested walking mode and more

• Adjustment of HP Potions to improve PVP challenges
