Memories of Mars Locks Down June Early Access Release
Fight to Surive and Explore the Red Planet in 'Memories of Mars' Available June 5
505 Games and Limbic Entertainment will bring the hostile and desolate world of the Red Planet to earthbound players on June 5 with the Early Access launch of Memories of Mars on Steam for PC for £23.99. For a limited time, 505 Games will also offer a 10% launch discount.
Featuring a rich and vast environment to explore and introducing a unique “seasons” mechanic to enhance the competition of surviving the Red Planet, Memories of Mars sets the stage for an otherworldly gaming experience designed to keep gameplay fresh. In the unique Seasons, which sets Memories of Mars apart from other survival games, death will be inevitable for even the most skilled players as periodic catastrophic solar flares wipe the planet’s surface of all life and player-made infrastructures on an ongoing basis. Some of the talents and abilities learned through the season can be backed up and carried over by a series of clones, allowing players the ability to download previous memories of how to build and craft to get a head start on surviving the next season.
Memories of Mars will task players with surviving the harsh and unforgiving landscape of the Red Planet while building a habitable homestead and competing against other players and enemy NPCs for resources and opportunities. Players can team up to explore, gather resources and build defense bases or go rogue and explore numerous locations including abandoned terraforming towers, mining sites, caves, canyons, meteor impact sites and more. Seasons will also serve to make the map feel new, with familiar places rearranged in new locations, exciting points of interest never-before-seen, added blueprints for creating different weapons and modules, novel enemies, updated events and more.

Open-world action RPG Wild Mage: Phantom Twilight coming to PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC
Open-world action adventure RPG Wild Mage: Phantom Twilight is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC in after meeting its Kickstarter funding and stretch goals, developer Luna Orion announced.
Wild Mage: Phantom Twilight is due out for PC via Steam Early Access in Q4 2019. The console version release dates are still to be announced.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Wild Mage: Phantom Twilight is an open-world action / adventure RPG featuring airships, floating islands, dungeons, and dynamically destructible enemies and environment.
Story
The story is set in the beautiful yet dangerous world of Etherion, which is made up of thousands of islands floating above a dense Miasma. Rising at night and burning off during the day, the Miasma spawns terrible creatures and is a constant menace to the people of Etherion. The only safe areas are located at the top of the islands. Recently the magic keeping the islands afloat has begun to wear off…
As a Wild Mage, you act as the right hand of the Tower of Heaven, Extracting adventures, Escorting Ships, Delivering goods, Reclaiming lost islands.
The airship is the main form of transportation on Etherion. These vehicles play a vital roll in all aspects of life on the Isles.
Gameplay
The environment in this game is completely destructible. Monsters can be sliced into pieces (think FruitNinjia). Fire propagates dynamically. Terrains and structures can be altered and destroyed (think MineCraft).
Perhaps the most important feature of the game is the removal of dps and traditional leveling. Instead, players have to venture into the world in order to acquire power and magic spells from monsters and lore books. And their increase in power is not represented in terms numbers but in physical effects. Let’s use a fireball as an example, instead of a higher leveled player having higher dps, a more experienced Wild Mage would be able to generate fireballs of larger size and further reach. It, in a sense, removes a lot of the predictability out of character advancement and enhances the sense of adventure. You can’t grind and watch the numbers grow. You need to explore and interact with the world in order to acquire new skills, spells and power!
Airships for transportation, combat, housing, and crafting
Staples like dynamic fire propagation and destructible mesh
No traditional “levels”. Spells and abilities are gained by taking them from monsters. Each monster in the game will have at least one skill for you to learn. Spells and can also be obtained through lore

The Spectrum Retreat launches this summer, 11 minutes of gameplay
First-person puzzler The Spectrum Retreat will launch for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC this summer, publisher Ripstone Games announced.
The company also shared an 11-minute gameplay video featuring commentary from game designer Dan Smith, who details the Penrose Hotel and its color-coded puzzles, showing how the basic color-swapping mechanics learned early on become more complex later. It also hints at the narrative arc of the game.
Here is a brief overview of The Spectrum Retreat, via Ripstone Games:
The Spectrum Retreat takes place in the near future at The Penrose hotel, a peaceful yet unsettling refuge from the outside world. As a valued guest, your existence is embedded into the corridors and guest rooms of The Penrose. Through exploration of the striking art-deco hotel you will begin to uncover the mysteries of both The Penrose and the uncertainties surrounding your current stay. Your desire to unearth the truth is obstructed by an array of color-coded first-person puzzles, mind-bending physics challenges and the growing fear of exposing your true intentions.
Named after a real-world phenomenon where players’ brains are so engrossed that images of the iconic falling Tetrimino blocks (i.e. the Tetris playing pieces) linger in their vision, thoughts, and even dreams, Tetris Effect amplifies this magical feeling of total immersion by surrounding you with fantastic, fully three-dimensional worlds that react and evolve based on how you play. Music, backgrounds, sounds, special effects—everything, down to the Tetris pieces themselves, pulse, dance, shimmer, and explode in perfect sync with how you’re playing.
From deep beneath the ocean to the furthest reaches of outer space and everywhere between, Tetris Effect’s 30-plus stages take players on a wondrous, emotional journey through the universe. The core of the game is still Tetris—one of the most popular puzzle games of all time—but like you’ve never seen it, or heard it, or felt it before.
