Limbo is an eerie black-and-white 2D sidescroller that features elements of film noir, terrific horror and haunting imagery that adds increased depth to the game’s minimalist and ambient gameplay.
Inside heaves unique challenges at players navigating a stark, yet gorgeous dystopian monochromatic 2.5D environment to guide the red-shirt wearing protagonist away from nearly certain death that culminates in a heart-pounding climax.
Action Stealth Shooter 'Past Cure' Story Trailer ~ PS4, Xbox One & PC
Action Stealth Shooter Past Cure by independent studio Phantom 8 reveals gets new story trailer
The young Berlin based independent developer Phantom 8 Studio today revealed the story trailer of its first game, Past Cure. Past Cure, a 3rd person action-stealth shooter, will be available on the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and via Steam for PC.
Past Cure is a single-player game that neatly combines stealth elements with dynamic action sequences and stunning graphics. The fictional world of Past Cure is set in two different dimensions, the gritty real world and the abstract dream world – a concept that will remind fans of the Hollywood blockbuster INCEPTION. Throughout the development process of Past Cure Phantom 8 focused on realistic combat animations, challenging puzzle mechanics and a detailed storyline, which completes the overall gaming experience.
Past Cure follows the highly decorated ex-elite soldier Ian and his chase for the men who once betrayed and transformed him. For years, Ian had been the subject of secret human trials, held in a dark prison somewhere in Europe. The experiments left him changed. Ian developed powerful skills such as mind control and telekinesis, but paid the price with his sanity. Each time he uses his powers, the madness inside him grows. This madness is fully revealed in his dreams - and now stretches its claws to reality. With the help of his brother Markus and the mysterious double agent Sophia, Ian pursues the men in the shadows as he takes on Eastern European cartels, secret organizations and unscrupulous scientists. He also encounters an adversary who does not seem to be of this world.
The innovative Berlin Studio Phantom 8 consists of an ambitious team, who have made it their goal to pursue new directions in game development. Through experience in modern 3D scanning and motion capture technologies, Phantom 8 is clearly different from other independent studios and relies on strong partners and technology providers like 3Lateral, Cubic Motion, Metric Minds and Take1. Thanks to 3Lateral, known in the industry for high quality face scans and rigs, Past Cure will be one of a handful of games that utilizes their new effective method of face rigging.

Warframe is Going Open-World with 'Plains of Eidolon' Expansion
Digital Extremes Announces 'Plains of Eidolon' Expansion for Warframe
For the first time in Warframe history, Tenno will have the freedom to explore, fight, journey and fly through the open Landscapes – Warframe’s first Open Zone – of Planet Earth in their own time, in their own way. Stepping into the rolling Plains of Eidolon, players will experience a rich landscape populated with both familiar and never-before seen creatures, enemies, a new Warframe, stunning vistas lit with a day/night cycle, and a gripping story told through interactive NPC characters who inhabit the bustling scavenger city of Cetus. In Plains of the Eidolon, players will set foot in a natural landscape with the freedom to explore it on their own terms.
With the first introduction of Landscapes in Warframe, Plains of Eidolon enables players to discover a bustling town full of NPCs with their own stories to tell, motives, quirks, and quests to offer. Cetus, a makeshift basecamp for scavengers known as Ostrons who’ve made The Bleeding Tower their home, is filled with activity and surprise. In this immense and gorgeous new landscape, players are challenged to attain a new Warframe and new weapons, engage in new story elements, and soar over the plains using Archwing – mechanical wings previously only used in space or under water. But beware — when night falls, even the invading Grineer flee the Spectral Sentients that haunt their colossal remains on the Plains of Eidolon.
“We have announced big things for Warframe at TennoCon before but nothing like this. Adding Landscapes is a huge leap that we’ve been working on for some time,” said Steve Sinclair, creative director of Warframe. “Plains of Eidolon is our first step in adding a new kind of player freedom to the game. We wanted to give our players something new, something dramatic, and that meant taking risks and evolving the game in a fresh, new direction. For veteran players, we’re always trying to give them a living, evolving game. Landscapes is a great example of how we do that. If you bounced off Warframe a while ago, this is a very different feel for the game that warrants a second look. We can’t wait to see how people react to this!”
Key Features
• Landscapes (Open Zones) – Until now, Warframe missions have taken place in relatively closed environments. With the Plains of the Eidolon expansion, players will set foot in a vast natural landscape free to explore on their own terms.
• Meet the Inhabitants of Cetus – Never before have Tenno encountered the faceless people whose lives they have saved, until now. Meet the Ostrons, a makeshift group of scavengers whose culture revolves around the grotesque harvesting of biomechanical tissue from long dormant Orokin Towers.
• Different Kind of Mission – In addition to discovering and exploring, players will engage in an assortment of missions to find and assemble new Warframes and weapons, items and more. Expect to strap on Archwing for air travel and battle, and experiment with customizing and modding a Warframe like never before.
• Discover and Explore – Plains of the Eidolon offers a sense of discovery, variety, and mystery that mixes several different environments and tones to create a deep sense of place. Experience a bristling new world in where the wind rustles across your Syandana and the age and size of giant Orokin structures ominously looms in the background. Earth will be more alive than ever before.

Vblank Entertainment has released the “full reveal” trailer for Shakedown: Hawaii, its upcoming 16-bit open-world adventure and sequel to Retro City Rampage.
The developer also announced that it will publish physical PlayStation 4 and PS Vita versions of Shakedown: Hawaii. It recommends you subscribe to its e-mail alerts so you don’t miss when they go on sale.
Here’s an overview of the game, via its Vblank Entertainment:
Open World, New Parody
Where Retro City Rampage was a send up to video games and pop culture, Shakedown: Hawaii is a parody of mega corporations, white collar crimes, and the most comically egregious business practices that go alongside. It playfully satirizes business that’s so ballsy, you’ll be left saying, “I’m not even mad, that’s amazing!”.
Out of Retirement… to Retire the Competition
You play an aging CEO, stranded in a world he no longer understands, with a company that’s now a relic of the past.
Upon discovering that online shopping’s destroyed his retail margins, ride sharing killed his taxi business, and video rental stores… are no longer actually a thing… it becomes clear that keeping the company alive will require drastic measures. He’ll need to modernize the business! Unfortunately, the modernizations he chooses are exactly those comically egregious practices!
From the Boardroom to the Streets
Replacing the genre’s more commonly populated gangs and mobsters, are boardroom executives, formulating harebrained schemes to increase margins and boost profits.
But, whether you’re cornering the market on avocado toast or masterminding new hidden service fees, the missions ultimately unravel into the same carjacking, combat and shootouts you’d expect from the genre.
Collect ‘Em All
As things begin to turn the corner, our anti-hero sets his sights even higher. Perhaps it was his rival’s taunts, or maybe he attended one too many motivational self-help seminars, or it could just be his own insecurity and over-compensation complex. Whatever it was, he declares that saving the company is no longer enough. He’s going to own the ENTIRE island! He’ll destroy EVERY competitor! He’ll convince the world that online shopping’s a dying fad, taxis are here to stay, and dammit… get everyone renting VHS tapes again!
The entire island is up for grabs… or at least, will be once you ruffle enough feathers.
Through story missions, small jobs and your own acquisitions, you’ll gain ownership of properties and businesses. The revenue they generate can then be funneled back into more acquisitions.
Reality Check
Our anti-hero’s decision to spend more time on reality TV as a “CEO” personality, than as the actual CEO of his company didn’t help matters.
Even though he’s only reached D-list celebrity status, he’s still too recognizable to go on a rampage without a disguise. Luckily he owns a few costume shops in town.
New opportunities will emerge as your empire branches out into new market segments. With the disguise, you can begin sabotaging competitors, threatening those who threaten your brands, and collaterally “rezone” land.
Collecting Loose Change
With your trusty disguise, you can also begin shaking down shops for protection money, and use that to fund your “legitimate” corporate expansion.
These micro missions are scattered all over the island and successfully completing them will provide you with additional streams of income.
More on these shakedowns will be revealed in detail in a later trailer dedicated solely to their part in the game, so stay tuned!
Shakedown: Hawaii is due out for PlayStation 4, Switch, PS Vita, 3DS, and PC via Steam in 2017.
Classic horror-inspired fighting game Omen of Sorrow playable at Evo 2017
AOne Games will showcase Omen of Sorrow, its upcoming PlayStation 4 fighting game featuring characters isnpired by classic horror, at Evolution 2017, the developer announced.
The playable demo, which will be available at booth #110, will feature previously revealed characters Caleb and Gabriel, an updated version of vampire character Vladislav, and new character Zafkiel. Attendees will be able to try out the game’s mechanics and test out the combat engine on its latest iteration.
“A fighting game engine has very specific and strict needs, that need to be solved in order to deliver a top quality experience the community has come to expect,” combat designer Felipe Muñoz said in a press release. “To have a constant 60 fps framerate, deterministic physics and consistent collisions has allowed us to develop a precise and fast paced gameplay we strived for.”
Muñoz continued, “We’ve got the certainty that players will enjoy what we’ll show at EVO, our next challenge is to finalize our custom matchmaking server to avoid the problems other fighting game titles have suffered. Fortunately Microsoft Azure has placed their trust upon us, so we’ll be able to use their global infrastructure to provide a superior quality experience.”
