Square Enix announces Dragon Quest Heroes 2 for PS3, PS4 & Vita

Dragon Quest Heroes 2 coming to PS3, PS4 and PS Vita

Square Enix will develop Dragon Quest Heroes 2, a sequel to the Koei Tecmo and Omega Force-developed action role-playing game released earlier this year, for PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita. The announcement comes as something of a surprise, since the original Dragon Quest Heroes was released in Japan just five weeks ago.

It sounds like the new Dragon Quest Heroes game is still pretty early; Square Enix says in a blog post that based on the positive reception to Dragon Quest Heroes on PS3 and PS4, it has decided to begin production on a sequel. Dragon Quest Heroes sold more than 594,000 copies across both platforms in its first week on sale in Japan, according to sales tracking service Media Create.

Dragon Quest Heroes was announced this past September at a Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Asia press conference, just prior to Tokyo Game Show. The game combines Dynasty Warriors-style hack and slash action with the characters and role-playing elements of Dragon Quest.

Square Enix announced earlier this year that Dragon Quest Heroes will be released on PS4 in North America and Europe.

　　《勇者斗恶龙英雄集结 II》目前已经确定资深总监堀井雄二、角色设计鸟山明与配乐作曲椙山浩一（すぎやまこういち）等关键老班底会参与制作。同样由 KOEI TECMO Games ω-Force 担任开发。确切上市日期与内容目前尚未明朗，仍有待官方后续公布，有兴趣的玩家不妨密切留意。

　　《勇者斗恶龙英雄集结闇龙与世界树之城》繁体中文版预定 2015 年夏季推出。

Dragon Quest Heroes II month-long of free content updates announced

The World of Dragon Quest Heroes II Expands With Month Long Content Updates

The battle to defend the Seven Realms continues today with the release of free content updates for the recently launched action RPG title,
Dragon Quest Heroes II. Beginning today, players can dive into the first of five installments of new content, which feature extended side-quests that delve deeper into the game’s colorful cast of characters. The update will also add a host of exclusive Slime weapons and additional multiplayer content.

The first update introduces two new side-quests, Episode Maribel & Ruff and Episode Torneko, which focus on the three veteran characters from the Dragon Quest series. The full list of updates includes:

May 11, 2017

Dragon Quest Heroes II is now available for the PlayStation 4 system and Steam for $59.99. A free demo is also available now to download via the PlayStation Store.

　　Square Enix又发布了一条ARPG《勇者斗恶龙英雄集结 II 双子之王与预言的终结》的预告片。预告片展示了游戏中的两个可玩角色“荻思梦娜”和“塞萨尔”。

　　《勇者斗恶龙英雄集结 II 双子之王与预言的终结》设定在《勇者斗恶龙》的宇宙中，让玩家踏上伟大的冒险，通过紧张激烈的大规模打斗为世界重新带来和平。

　　本作将增加多人联机的功能，玩家最多可以组成四人小队进行在线合作，征服魔物大军，战胜史诗级巨怪。

　　《勇者斗恶龙英雄集结 II 双子之王与预言的终结》将于4月25日通过Steam登陆PC平台。

Dragon Quest Heroes II Announced for Steam

"Explorer's Edition" for Dragon Quest II Available for Pre-order

Dragon Quest fans can now pre-order the Dragon Quest Heroes II Explorer’s Edition that offers 15 exclusive downloadable content (DLC) items to assist in their fight against swarms of enemies and to return peace to the world. The DLC includes weapons designed from the enemies in the game, including the Slime Knight’s Shield, Great Sabreclaws, Golem Gauntlets and more. A reversible cover artwork of the Adventure Log is also included in this edition.

The Dragon Quest Heroes II Day One Explorer’s Edition is available for pre-order from the Square Enix Online Store for $59.99 or from the PlayStation Store. Fans who pre-order through the PlayStation Store will also receive:

• Exclusive PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system theme

• Dragon Quest I Hero Costume

• Special “Healix the Hero” recipe for Dragon Quest Builders – this in-game content will allow Dragon Quest Builders players to build a statue of one of the franchise favorite characters, Healix from Dragon Quest Heroes II.

Square Enix also unveiled the new overview trailer that highlights what the game has to offer: tons of characters, vast landscapes, fast action, customizable classes, and online multiplayer.

Dragon Quest Heroes II is releasing for the PlayStation 4 system and Steam on April 25, 2017.
