Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Announces Post-Apocalyptic Open World Action Game Mad Max

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced Mad Max, a new open world, third-person action game where players become Mad Max, a lone warrior in a savage post-apocalyptic world where cars are the key to survival. The game will debut for PlayStation(R)4 computer entertainment system, PlayStation 3 computer entertainment system, Xbox One the all-in-one games and entertainment system from Microsoft, the Xbox 360 games and entertainment system from Microsoft and Windows PC.

Scheduled for release in 2014, Mad Max will deliver dynamic, open-world gameplay where gamers fight to stay alive in The Wasteland, using brutal on-ground and vehicular combat against vicious gangs of bandits. Players are challenged with treacherous missions as they scavenge the dangerous landscape for supplies to build the ultimate combat vehicle.

"Mad Max places gamers directly into the driver's seat of their ultimate customized vehicle to battle it out in the action-packed, open world of The Wasteland," said Samantha Ryan, Senior Vice President, Production & Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment. "We are very pleased to work with Avalanche Studios to provide a next generation gaming experience with robust fighting paired with dynamic vehicular combat."

Mad Max Now Available, Launch Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Launches Mad Max

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announced that Mad Max, the open-world, third-person action game developed by Avalanche Studios and set in a post-apocalyptic setting, is now available for PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and PC. PC is available via digital only in the UK.

The Mad Max video game introduces an original story set within the universe of Mad Max and features deep car customisation that impacts its handling, metal-grinding vehicular action and gives players a vast arsenal of mobile weaponry within The Wasteland. Players become Max, the lone warrior who must fight to stay alive by engaging in vicious on-ground fighting, as well as physics-based vehicular combat, against savage factions who are fighting for domination and survival in this gritty, dynamic open-world.

“Mad Max is an iconic character, recently re-introduced to the world by the latest film, and now we’re introducing a new way for fans and gamers to experience the adventure-filled Wasteland universe in which he lives,” said Peter Wyse, Vice President, Group General Manager, Production and Development, Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment . “Avalanche Studios has created an expansive, beautiful open world environment that comes to life with a brand new story for Mad Max .”

“Avalanche Studios are big fans of Mad Max and creating an open-world game in such a brutal setting was right up our alley,” said Christofer Sundberg, Avalanche Studios Co-founder and Chief Creative Officer. “We can’t wait to see how players customise their Max characters, as well as their cars.”

Following the theft of his iconic Interceptor, Max must align himself with a gifted, but peculiar, mechanic named Chumbucket to build the ultimate survival vehicle, something Chumbucket calls the “Magnum Opus.” Players design, customise and upgrade their essential vehicle by choosing from different car chassis and a myriad of upgrades including mounted weapons, armour and engines in the hopes of escaping to the Plains of Silence. Gamers must endure the open-world, post-apocalyptic environment that features a huge variety of encounters in a host of different locations throughout The Wasteland, many of them remnants of the world before the apocalypse. Players brave the treacherous landscapes, hostile weather patterns and deadly marauders, while accumulating Max’s equipment and weapons to survive by combining melee combat, gunplay and tactical techniques.

Mad Max Stronghold Trailer

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Avalanche Studios today released the Mad Max Stronghold Trailer, giving a glimpse into the various fortified garrisons, or strongholds, located throughout the open world of the post-apocalyptic Wasteland.

In the new trailer, Max visits some of the game’s diverse strongholds and encounters a number of intriguing characters, including Jeet, Gutgash, Pink Eye and Deep Friah. In a world where Max faces both his internal and external enemies, these strongholds hold the pieces essential to the puzzle he tries to solve as he prepares to take on merciless Wasteland tyrant, Scrotus.

Featuring deep car customisation, metal-grinding vehicular action, brutal melee combat and a vast desert landscape waiting to be explored, players will be fully immersed into the deadly Mad Max universe like never before.

Mad Max will be released on 1st September, 2015 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

　　华纳兄弟与 Avalanche Studios 今日公开以《疯狂麦斯（Mad Max）》电影为基础、研发动作冒险新作《冲锋飞车队（Mad Max）》E3 宣传影片，描写主角麦斯面对冷酷无情的暴走族头目 Scrotus。

　　《冲锋飞车队》是以电影主角麦斯为主角，他驾驶着爱车「V8 拦截者」在荒野上进行各种任务。

　　PC/PS4/Xbox One《冲锋飞车队》预定 9 月 1 日问世。
