目前官方仅正式发表此一系列最新作正在制作的消息，但包括平台与上市日期等都还未公布，但因为这次的直播节目主题是「最新 PlayStation 作品大集合」，加上发表当下是由索尼互动娱乐日本亚洲（SIEJA）总裁盛田厚以特别来宾的身分共同参与，因此推断应该会有 PS4 版。
此外，官方网站亦公布《真‧三国无双 8》将加入家喻户晓的绿叶武将「周仓」。

Dynasty Warriors 9 announced
Koei Tecmo and Omega Force announced Dynasty Warriors 9 during its “Greatest Games Lineup in History” broadcast today. Its platform was not announced, but the broadcast was presented by PlayStation and Sony Interactive Entertainment Japan Asia president Atsushi Morita introduced the title, so it’s safe to assume it will be released on PlayStation 4.
Koei Tecmo’s western branches announced the game alongside Japan.
The latest entry in the series, which celebrated its 15th anniversary this year, promises to be a “rebirth” with drastic game system changes and set in an open world. There will be towns in the vast fields that players can freely enter and exit, and the map will have considerable differences in elevation.
A Famitsu interview with Koei Tecmo’s Masaki Furusawa and Akihiro Suzuki reveals that all 83 characters that appeared up until Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires will appear in the game. Zhou Cang will appear as a new playable character, alongside several other new characters, but not too many.

When it came down to the next numbered title, in thinking that it would be pointless to follow the same pattern, they figured that a new Dynasty Warriors would be most interesting if it used an open world.
All of China is reproduced. While the Chinese land is a vast one, there are a lot of mountains, so places where battles can take place are limited. For this reason, they’re creating places like Hulao Pass and Zhongyuan in detail.
Know-how is shared within the company. Because the nature of the open world is different from that of Toukiden 2, that technology cannot be used as it is, but that which can be appropriated will be utilized.
They want to change input methods such as Square button for a standard attack and Triangle button for a charge attack. The concept of “being a match for a thousand” will remain, so something like Musou Ranbu will remain.
They’re aiming to make Zhao Cang a comedic character. His weapon is the “Dai Satsu Katana.” It is large and offers dynamic actions. He is a character that combines both excitement and speed, and promises to be fun to use.
Dynasty Warriors 9 news coming in May

Koei Tecmo will share more information on the December 2016-announced Dynasty Warriors 9 in May, producer Akihiro Suzuki announced.
“It’s producer Suzuki. I am sorry to have kept you waiting so long,” Suzuki said in a tweet. “Further information on Dynasty Warriors 9 will be released starting in May!”
After teasing Dynasty Warriors 9 news is coming in May last week, producer Akihiro Suzuki took to Twitter again today to confirm a more specific date of Thursday, May 11.
May 11 is also the date the next issues of Weekly Famitsu and Dengeki PlayStation release, and if the standard pattern follows suit, information from those magazines should leak in the early morning on May 9, eastern time.

The first open-world game in the Dynasty Warrior series, Dynasty Warriors 9 will of course feature actions that let players toss around large armies, as well as various other actions such as shooting at enemies from a distance and invading castles with a grappling hook. The mechanisms behind attack actions are being completely changed, and new characters and various “innovations” are also being added. One of the new warlords being added is Cheng Pu.

Man Chong joins the previously announced Cheng Pu and Zhou Cang, the latter of which is also highlighted in the magazine. Historically, Man Chong excelled at defensive warfare, but what kind of role will he play in this game? The magazine also intrdouces existing warlords Sun Shangxiang, Lu Xun, and Lu Bu.

■ Mission Link System
The difficulty of missions required to advance the story will change based on the player’s actions.
For example, here are two ways to approach the same mission:
The Easier Way – If you break through the castle gate by using a ram car, it will take some time and effort, but you can easily destroy the gates. There is also an advantage in that you can invade the castle with ally soldiers alongside you.
The Harder Way – If you don’t use the ram car, you can invade the castle using a grappling hook, but then have to take on a large number of guards all on your own. To make up for the easy infiltration, it will be a tough battle once you’re actually inside.
■ Transport Units
You will encounter transport units all over the continent. By attacking transport units, you can get valuable items and money. Doing so may also affect future battlefields.
■ Misc.
In addition to requests and missions, occasional “encounters” will also occur.
You will encounter various wild animals, including wolfs, tigers, and pandas. Pandas won’t attack the player.

Though her straightforward personality causes her to be one of the first to rush her enemies, her skill with weapons is sufficient to allow her to survive. She earns the nickname “Princess of the Bow” due to the beauty of her face and form and her proficiency with a bow.
Lu Xun (voiced by Kenji Nojima)
A self-effacing young officer, he always conducts himself with sincerity. He aids Lu Meng in defeating Guan Yu, and succeeds in taking Jing. He serves as the Grand Commander at Yiling and is able to destroy Liu Bei’s huge army. He encapsulates both the liveliness of youth and the wisdom of resourcefulness.
◆ Shu
Zhou Cang (voiced by Chiharu Sawashiro)
A former subordinate of the Yellow Turbans and Zhang Bao. He reunited with Guan Yu in Gagyuzan after falling so low as to become a bandit and became his loyal follower. He is extraordinarily swift-footed, and his speed is said to be the same as that of a red hair that runs a thousand miles per day. He excels in swimming with his superhuman strength, and plays an active role as a commander.

Lu Bu (voiced by Tetsu Inada)
A master of the military arts and particularly skilled in mounted archery. His exceptional skill earns him praise as a warrior among warriors, just as Red Hare is praised as a horse among horses. Lu Bu is a firm believer in the right of might and tends to ignore social niceties.
■ System
Mission
How to clear an mission is up to the player.
Various missions will occur on the field, and the player can freely carry out each mission in order to accomplish their end goal. Each mission affects other missions, and the difficulty of a mission will change depending on how you choose to clear it.
The path towards the end goal depends on the player, whether it is to “move in with a frontal attack and steadily clear the mission,” to “prepare for high difficulty and force your way through,” or to “change the state of battle in favor of another mission.”
—Sneak over the wall and invade the castle interior!
—Ambush the enemy on your own!
—Protect the ram car until it reaches its destination and break through the castle gates!

Descendant of Liu Sheng, King of the Eastern Han dynasty.
He took to the battlefield alongside his oath-brothers Guan Yu and Zhang Fei in order to bring peace to the people and prosperity back to the Han Dynasty.
Compassionate and charitable, he had a tendency to act based on feelings more than logic.
His warm personality earned him the love and loyalty of many people.
Yuan Shao became the leader of the Coalition that gathered to end the tyranny of Dong Zhuo.
Following Dong Zhuo’s death, he fought his longtime acquaintance Cao Cao over control of the central plains.
He had both ability and power commensurate with his noble birth, but at the same time suffered from the conceit and vulnerability prevalent among the nobility.
Raised by Wang Yun as his own daughter, Diaochan, a skilled singer and dancer, was considered one of the most beautiful women of her time.
She agreed to participate in a plan to divide Dong Zhuo and Lu Bu and managed to get close to both of them, succeeding in tearing their relationship apart.
Veiled by her beauty, she carried the same burning passion like many great war heroes.

Xu Zhu (voiced by Takahiro Yoshimizu)
A pure-hearted fighter. With a large frame and superior strength, he was often by Cao Cao’s side to protect him from harm.
Though normally even-tempered with a carefree personality, once on the battlefield, he fought with the fierceness of a tiger earning him the nickname Crazy Tiger.
Dian Wei (voiced by Kazuya Nakai)
A fierce and loyal warrior. Built like a giant with immense strength and an impressive physique, he often served as a bodyguard to Cao Cao. His fierce look and uncultured ways incited fear among many yet those he served know the man for his utmost loyalty.
◆ Wu
Ling Tong (voiced by Taiki Matsuno)
The hard-to-hate cynic. A servant of Wu, he continued to serve even after his father Ling Cao was killed in a battle with Gan Ning, and despised him ever since. He continued to serve even after his father was killed in a battle with Gan Ning, and despises him as a foe since. Often viewed as sarcastic, his deep loyalty to his friends and family drove him in battle putting his name among the greatest warriors of Wu.
Gan Ning (voiced by Hiroaki Miura)
An open-hearted soul. Nicknamed “Gan Ning of the Bells” for the bells he wore on his clothing, he was short-tempered and quick to brawl but was well-trusted by his men. Discontent from the lack of trust he received from Liu Biao and Huang Zu, he defected to Wu where he fought in numerous battles, namely the Battle of Chibi.
◆ Shu
Guan Ping (voiced by Ryouhei Nakao)
A warrior of the next generation. Originally the second son of Guan Ding of Hebei, he became the adopted son of Guan Yu after his father became impressed with Guan Yu in a fateful encounter. Earnest and true, he joined Liu Bei as a sign of respect to his adopted father wherein he became proficient in martial arts.
◆ Other
Dong Zhuo (voiced by Yukitoshi Hori)
A power-hungry malevolence. Previously serving as Prefect of Xiliang, he rose to power after being called to battle by He Jin against the Imperial Eunuchs. With the chaos of battle and the death of He Jin, he quickly took control of the court through the young Emperor. Using his adopted son, Lu Bu, he ruled with complete brutality through military might inducing fear among the people.

Daughter of Qiao Xuan. Future wife of Zhou Yu. With her sister Daqiao, she is famous throughout the land as one of the beautiful “Two Qiaos.” She has a certain innocence and naiveté about her; it is said that she joined her husband on the battlefield partly on a whim. For this reason, she often shows a rare sort of courage on the battlefield.
Daughter of Qiao Xuan. Future wife of Sun Ce. With her sister, Xiaoqiao, she is one of the proclaimed beauties of her time. A gentle soul, she dislikes fighting and is weary of the chaotic times. However, she learns to fight in a desire to aid her husband.
Brother by oath to Liu Bei and Guan Yu, this strong and fierce fighter is always eager to fight. Alone, he held off Cao Cao’s entire force with a single yell. Innocent as a child, he sometimes acts rashly, with a short temper and fits of emotion. Unfortunately, he loves to drink and this gets him into lots of trouble.
The greatest mind of his age, this genius gives his life for courtesy and duty. He joins Liu Bei in order to repay the honor of three visits that Liu Bei made to him. With keen discernment and impartial conduct, he gains the trust of an entire nation and helps that nation grow. With his signature white feather fan, he guides the flow of battle with his strategies.
The daughter of Lu Bu, she possesses great fighting ability much like her father, and uses her courage to stand on the front lines of any battle. Her strength of spirit enables her to face any hardship, although she has a fear of loneliness due to an incident from her past.

Zhenji is a true Femme Fatale. She has skin as smooth as a gem and a face as lovely as a flower. After Cao Cao subjugates Ji Province, his son, Cao Pi, meets this lovely lady and takes her to be his wife. She loves music and song, but is difficult to approach due to her cold, distant personality and majestic, dignified manner.
Cao Pi (voiced by Nobutoshi Canna)
Son of Cao Cao, King of Wei, he was destined from birth to inherit his father’s ambition. While he has the capability and potential to unify the next generation, the environment in which he was raised and his high level of intelligence led him to be cold and often condescending at times. He excels at remaining calm and evaluating the situation, no matter what that may be, so that he may respond appropriately.
◆ Wu
Xu Sheng (voiced by Tarusuke Shingaki)
A Wu commander who serves Sun Quan. After Sun Quan succeeded his older brother Sun Ce, Xu Sheng was invited to become his retainer when he was searching for talented men. Xu Sheng participated in campaigns such as the Battle of Red Cliffs, the capture of Hefei, and the capture of Jingzhou. He served long on the front lines, such as when Cao Pi attacked Wu, after which he drove away the Wei army by erecting a fake castle and walls.
◆ Shu
Xingcai (voiced by Junko Noda)
Daughter of Zhang Fei. Born in chaotic times, she grows up surrounded by the mighty warriors that follow Liu Bei, and chooses to learn how to fight. She decides that protecting Liu Bei’s son, Liu Shan, is her role in life. Unlike her father, she is calm and never lets her emotions get away from her.
Zhang Bao (voiced by Daisuke Sakaguchi)
Son of Zhang Fei. He is just as skilled in battle as his father. He is very responsible and enjoys taking care of others. He also takes part in many battles in the Northern Campaign together with his brother-in-law, Guan Xing.
◆ Jin
Wang Yuanji (voiced by Kanae Itou)
Daughter of the Wei minister Wang Su. From her youth, she shows both intelligence and courage. She is extremely polite and kind to people weaker than she. But to those she considers family, she speaks her mind without holding back.
Sima Zhao (voiced by Daisuke Kishio)
Second son of Sima Yi. Compared to his perfect brother, he is viewed as being somewhat lacking by those around him. He has a playful and happy-go-lucky personality, but never loses track of what is vital in important situations.
■ New Actions
The “musou action” cultivated by the Dynasty Warriors series has been significantly reformed for Dynasty Warriors 9.
The game features the new “State Combo System,” through which you can unleash various actions depending on the state of the enemy, and “Interactive Actions,” which you can take based on objects on the field and changes in terrain. Both of these systems will enable you to enjoy even more exhilarating “musou action” with a greater level of freedom.
State Combo System
The exhilarating feeling of one-versus-thousands action experience through simple controls is still present in Dynasty Warriors 9, but a new system is in place that enables you to assemble various actions through the use of “Flow Attacks,” which change based on the state of the enemy, “React Attacks,” which create a favorable situation for you, and “Trigger Attacks,” which are the starting point for combos.
For example: “Guard Break (React Attack)” → “Consecutive Attacks (Flow Attacks)” → “Launch (Trigger Attack)” → “Pursuit Attack (Flow Attack)” → “Ground Strike (React Attack),” and so on. By switching between these three types of attacks to cope with various situations, you can enjoy endless freedom of action.
—Flow Attack (Square Button)
An attack that changes based on the state of the enemy. It includes standard attacks, aerial situations, downed states, and the so on. Flow Attacks can be used to hit enemies with a lot of damage through quick, consecutive attacks.
—React Attack (Triangle Button)
An attack that changes based on timing, as well as the state of the player and the enemy. React Attacks can be used to create a favorable situation for the player.
React Attacks include:
Counter Attack – An attack triggered against an enemy that is trying to commence an attack.
Separation Attack – An attack that pushes a nearby enemy away.
Dash Attack – An attack that instantly closes the gap with a distant enemy.
Knock Down Attack – An attack that knocks an airborne enemy down to the ground.
Guard Repel Attack – An attack triggered against a guarding enemy, which breaks their guard.
Surprise Attack – An attack that instantly draws you to the enemy to deal big damage when they have yet to discover your presence.
Finishing Attack – An attack that triggered when a certain amount of damage is dealt to the enemy. It can reliably defeat the target enemy.
—Trigger Attack
An attach that changes the state of the enemy. Unleash combos to your satisfaction by connecting it to a Flow Attack after an attack hits.
Trigger Attacks include:
R1 + Square – Stuns an enemy for a fixed period of time.
R1 + Triangle – Launches an enemy into the air.
R1 + X – Downs an enemy.
—Special Technique (R1 + Circle)
A special attack unique to each officer.
Interactive Actions
Perform various actions based on the objects on the field and changes in terrain (such as coming across a river).
These include movement-related actions such as “using a grappling hook to climb a wall” and “swimming in a big river,” as well as other actions ike “exploding an oil container with a fire arrow,” “using the wall for a triangular jump,” and even “fishing at the waterfront.”
Interactive Actions further increase the level of freedom offered to players on the field.

She is the daughter of the Wang family of Hanzhong. Her entire family was slaughtered in Western Liang and she has since vowed to get her revenge on Ma Chao, thus becoming a leader of the Wei forces. Normally she is never one to involve herself with anyone else unless absolutely required.
Yu Jin (voiced by Atsushi Miyauchi)
An officer promoted by Cao Cao, he made a name for himself across the land through his performance in various battles. He places a strong emphasis on military discipline, and his unyielding personality causes him to be feared by friend and foe alike.
Zhang Liao (voiced by Hirofumi Tanaka)
Under Lu Bu, he engages in many battles. After Lu Bu’s defeat and death, he takes service with Cao Cao. Always calm and collected, his ability to make accurate decisions on the field of battle earn him fame and glory. He is selected as the leader of the Five Generals of Wei. He cherishes duty, and is polite to all, even his enemies.
◆ Wu
Huang Gai (voiced by Tetsu Inada)
A dedicated officer of Wu, having fought from the time of Sun Jian. He is a strong man who always chooses to fight on the front lines despite his age. His hardened experience in battle is evident in the excessive confidence he displays.
◆ Jin
Deng Ai (voiced by Masato Obara)
A long-time general for Wei. Originally a minister, his talent as a commander is discovered by Sima Yi and he is entrusted with troops. He enjoys looking at maps and is skilled at using the terrain to his advantage. He is very active in the battle with Shu.
Guo Huai (voiced by Satoru Kamata)
An officer of Wei who is active in the battles against Shu. Sickly and frequently coughing, he still is able to prove his worth on the battlefield. Indebted to Xiahou Yuan and Sima Yi, his loyalty to Wei is unquestionable.
Xiahou Ba (voiced by Kenji Akabane)
Son of Xiahou Yuan. He has a young-looking face and a personality similar to his father. For this reason, he frequently wears armor with a helmet. As a member of the famous Xiahou family much is expected of him, but as the political situation in Wei changes, his position grows unsteady.

Guan Yinping (voiced by Shiori Mikami)
Daughter of Guan Yu. Sister of Guan Ping, Guan Xing, and Guan Suo. She is very talented and utilizes the skills she initially learned for self-defense on the battlefield. She possesses great strength, but she herself does not realize it.
◆ Jin
Sima Yi (voiced by Ryotaro Okiayu)
An extremely talented strategist. His talent is discovered by Cao Cao and after being asked multiple times, he relents and becomes Cao’s strategist. He is self-absorbed and very passionate, but is also cunning and knows to restrain that part of himself when necessary. He leads Wei to numerous victories under Cao Cao, and is highly trusted by Cao Pi.

An officer who was a classmate of Sun Quan’s, he was promoted within the Wu ranks. Although young, he distinguished himself in the suppression of a group of mountain bandits and during the Battle of Ruxukou. As an officer entrusted with the future of Wu, those around him have high expectations for his potential.

Jiang Wei (voiced by Hisayoshi Suganuma)
A young officer often referred to as the Prodigy of Tianshui. Successor to Zhuge Liang, he is entrusted with all of Zhuge’s strategies. After the Battle of the Wuzhang Plains, he leads numerous campaigns against Wei. With his steadfastness and strong sense of responsibility, he helps support Shu until the very end.
Yueying
Wife of Zhuge Liang. Daughter of Huang Chengyan. She chooses the fight as a way to support her husband and execute his strategies. Not only is she an able fighter, but she is also well versed in astronomy, geography, strategy, and other fields of learning and continually aids Zhuge Liang from the shadows. Her natural grace gives her a commanding presence on the field of battle.
◆ Jin
Wen Yang (voiced by Yuuki Ono)
Son of the Wei officer, Wen Qin. His style name is Ciqian. He has unprecedented courage and valor in battle, and his accomplishments on the battlefield are reminiscent of those of the great Zhao Yun.
Zhuge Dan (voiced by Takuya Kirimoto)
A member of the Zhuge Family. While Zhuge Liang is “the Dragon” and Zhuge Jin is “the Tiger,” this young officer is jokingly called “the Dog.” Through hard work, he gains a high reputation for his service to Wei. He is extremely serious and has a strong sense of right and wrong. However, he tends to have a very narrow focus, which gets him into trouble when he needs to consider the big picture.

A New Player Experience: Freely Explore the Continent of China and Run Around a Vast Field
By exploring the vast field, you can enjoy a variety of game elements unique to open worlds, including unexpected, small-scale battles between forces, “hunting” and “fishing” to obtain materials, encounters with various animals, and the discovery of various landmarks representative of China.
Additionally, by visiting the “towns” and “villages” scattered about the field, you can buy and sell weapons and items, and pick up useful information from residents. Freely run about the continent of China and enjoy various scenes while progressing the game.
—By hunting the animals you encounter, you can obtain materials to create “accessories” that strengthen the player officer.
—At times, you may encounter a brutal animal. They’re tough opponents, but just like hunting, it’s your chance to obtain materials for “accessories.”

At the “Stable,” you can buy horses. Since they’re an efficient way to move about the vast field, you’ll want to obtain a horse with high performance.
At the “Old Coin Collector,” you can use the “Old Coins” you obtained to purchase valuable items.
At the “Blacksmith,” in addition to buying and selling weapons, you can use materials to create weapons and items. Necessary materials are written on a “bamboo slip,” which can be obtained as request rewards and such.
—Encountering Officers in Informal Clothes!?
In towns and villages, Warriors officers will appear in their informal clothes. With a charm different from their usual combat uniforms, you can enjoy unique conversations with each officer. Informal clothes are being prepared for every officer, so be sure to frequently drop by towns and villages and look for each officer in their informal clothes!

Cao Ren, a courageous warrior skilled in every martial art, had in him a gentle and courteous character. As he was deeply trusted by his cousin, Cao Cao, he joined his army alongside Xiahou Dun and Xiahou Yuan with hopes of ending the chaotic times as quickly as possible.
Jia Xu (voiced by Hideo Ishikawa)
Jia Xu, an excellent strategist, was known for his carefully calculated and highly accurate plans. Although he originally traveled the land to avoid the turmoil, his skills were recognized by Cao Cao when he devised a plan that drove Cao Cao into a corner while in service to Zhang Xiu. With his superior knowledge, Cao Cao took him in as a strategist in his army.
◆ Wu
Lu Meng (voiced by Yukitoshi Hori)
Viewed by many as a hard worker who often took matters too seriously, Lu Meng had a straightforward personality that earned him the trust of his peers. Originally a warrior of brute strength, he grew into an excellent general with strength and strategic knowledge. His exceptional skills even caught the eye of his senior, Lu Su, who was greatly impressed with his growth.

Xu Shu (voiced by Atsushi Kisaichi)
Originally a disciple of Sima Hui, Xu Shu was a skilled military strategist and an expert swordsman. Choose your own path! The road to victory is yours to decide!
Missions are issued on the field and players have the option to shape their own path to reach the final goal.
For example, in the Battle of Guandu, the final goal is defeating Yuan Shao, but first of all, capturing Baidu and Yanjing is suggested. If they are captured as suggested, defeating Yuan Shao will become easier. However, capturing them is optional so this suggestion can be ignored and the enemy territory can be invaded – just be prepared for a more difficult challenge.
In addition, by clearing various missions the location of the enemy’s supply depot is revealed. Attacking it will weaken Yuan Shao’s forces, but the choice is up to the player.
Finally, expanding the frontline to increase the strength of allied forces and clearing various missions will turn the tide of war, affecting the difficulty level of various battles.
The path to the final goal is yours to decide!
Battle of Guandu
—Battering rams and siege towers stand ready for use at Baima. Choose to break through the gates using the battering ram or infiltrate into the castle using the siege tower to open the gates from the inside.
—Heading straight towards the final goal of defeating Yuan Shao is an extremely difficult task. Following the strategy of capturing Baima and Yanjin may be the best way to go.
—In order to counter the Yuan Shao forces’ siege engine, information from a handmaiden is needed, but she will only provide it in exchange for finding her cat. There are various missions (requests) outside of battle, and completing them can help clear critical missions.
—A request from a villager to drive away wolves. Saving villages from danger will help in gaining the assistance of villagers in other missions.
—The difficulty of the critical mission will change according to how the player advances towards the final objective.
—Yuan Shao’s forces’ supply depot is discovered. Attacking the supply depot will greatly lower the difficulty of the critical mission.
—Various battles are taking place simultaneously in the bases in surrounding areas. By participating and winning in these battles, the frontlines will be pushed forward to your forces’ advantage.
—Assist allies with supporting attacks from atop towers. Battling to avoid further danger is a tactic to safely advance through the critical mission.
Gain the upper hand in battle by conquering bases
Numerous bases are scattered across the field, and conquering these bases will expand the allied frontline. It is possible to simply launch a straight attack into enemy lines but by boosting your force’s frontline, allied forces will assist in invading the final target area, enabling greater military strength to clear the final objective.

Taishi Ci (voiced by Hirohiko Kakegawa)
Known for his single-minded devotion to what he believes to be right and dutiful. He once saved Kong Rong, the prefect of Beihai, in order to repay the aid Kong Rong had given his mother. He later serves Liu Yong, but is forced to submit to Sun Ce after Liu Yong’s defeat and serves Wu from then on. He wields his blade believing that the way of the warrior is the true path to fulfilling one’s duty.

Liu Shan (voiced by Taiki Matsuno)
Son of Liu Bei. Much is expected of him as the son of the man whose benevolence and charisma drew together numerous heroes. He tends to calmly assess situations and make decisions after careful consideration of all factors. This makes those around him mistakenly feel that he is slow and foolish.
Pang Tong (voiced by Tagahiro Kawachi)
A brilliant military tactician who studied under the same master as Zhuge Liang, earning the designation “Fledgling Phoenix.” He maintains a lighthearted and casual attitude towards life. However, when required he is able to grasp the overall picture and efficiently define what is needed.

Chen Gong (voiced by Hiromu Miyazaki)
Lu Bu’s strategist, his sense of humor belies the ambition within his heart, and he is willing to make any sacrifice to see himself rise to the top. He once served under Cao Cao, but upon determining that he could not realize his ambitions there, he pledged his allegiance to Lu Bu instead.

A fiery berserker. His strength, appearance, and actions strike fear into the hearts of both friend and foe alike. Following the death of his lord Liu Biao, he takes service with Liu Bei. Despite Zhuge Liang’s objections, Liu Bei accepts Wei Yan’s service.

His style name is Yuanfang. He can use sorcery to perform supernatural miracles. He laments the chaos that has enveloped the world, and hopes for the virtuous Liu Bei to bring forth a new age of peace.
Zhang Jiao (voiced by Yasuhiko Kawazu)
He spreads his teachings to the people as a practitioner of Taiping Dao. He has gained the support of the people by capitalizing on the times of turmoil. He forms the Yellow Turbans to oppose the rapidly decaying Han Imperial Court, and styles himself the “General of Heaven.” His philosophical style and singular presence give his movement a rather unique feel to it.

The King of Nanzhong. With a huge body and exceptional strength, he is not only the king of his land, but also its greatest warrior. He generally acts more on emotion than on thought. But regardless of his looks, he both loves and fears his wife.

Yue Jin is a general that serves under Cao Cao and former court official. He has been a veteran of Cao Cao’s army since the early days and has fought in many battles. He has a slight complex due to his short height, but he makes up for it with his superior ability in battle.

Lianshi (voiced by Akemi Kanda)
An attendant of Sun Shangxiang. Bu Zhi’s daughter and member of a once prominent family that has fallen from grace. She was hired for her skills in battle to act as a bodyguard for Sun Shangxiang.

Fa Zheng (voiced by Tomohisa Hashizume)
A key figure in Liu Bei’s efforts to take the land of Shu, he formerly served Liu Zhang. He is a brilliant tactician, and pacified Yi Province with his strategies, as well as participated in the invasion of Hanzhong. He strongly believes in repaying his debts, whether it be for good or ill.
Guan Xing (voiced by Nobunaga Shimazaki)
Son of Guan Yu. Praised highly from a young age, even Zhuge Liang has expressed high hopes for Guan Xing throughout his life. He often keeps to himself, but is highly capable at anything he tries. Although quite young he is highly experienced in battle and has fought together with Zhang Bao in the Northern Campaign.

Zhong Hui (voiced by Ichitarou Ai)
This officer becomes a general at a very young age. Extremely talented, he enjoys battle, but is not trusted by older generals due to his overconfidence. He personally considers Deng Ai his rival.

—If you fish in the canal inside the town, you can obtain materials and coins.
—You can also hunt wild animals such as wolves and bears. You can also master your hunting by developing arrows effective against wild animals.
—By hunting, you will receive “Hunting Points.” Depending on the amount of Hunting Points you obtained, you can receive coins and jewels from the dilettante as a reward.

Dynasty Warriors 9 details NPCs Xiahouji, Dong Bai, Hua Xiong, and Yuan Shu; ‘Reborn Action’ gameplay video
Koei Tecmo has updated the official website for Dynasty Warriors 9 with new information and screenshots introducing non-playable characters Xiahouji, Dong Bai, Hua Xiong, and Yuan Shu, as well as a new gameplay video showcasing the game’s “Reborn Action.”

Xiahouji (voiced by Yuuko Mikutsu)
Wife to Zhang Fei, niece to Xiahou Yuan, and cousin to Xiahou Ba, her shy nature was the result of having spent the majority of her life at home, being brought up with care. One fateful day while playing in the woods, she met Zhang Fei, who then took her as his wife.
Dong Bai (voiced by Eri Oozeki)
Granddaughter of Dong Zhuo, she was doted on by her grandfather and was often given land and fortune even at a young age. Although willful and cruel, she took on a charming persona whenever Dong Zhuo was about.
Hua Xiong (voiced by Oota Pile Volcano)
A ferocious retainer of Dong Zhuo, he used his colossal and dominant stature to strike at Sun Jian and Yuan Shao of the Anti-Dong Zhuo coalition at Shisui Gate.
Yuan Shu (voiced by Keiji Hirai)
A general of the Later Han and cousin to Yuan Shao, he was born into a prestigious family where he fell in love with power and wealth. With an unquenched thirst for power, he eventually gained the Imperial Seal and named himself Emperor. Yet, this same thirst led him to misgovern his people ultimately losing their support.
