Nioh alpha demo coming out April 26
《仁王》α体验版 4 月 26 日起限时开放下载游玩 等待 10 余年终于迎来最终上市之期
Anticipation and excitement… this is what we felt after our announcement of Nioh at PlayStation Experience. Now, we’re back with even more exciting news — an Alpha Demo arriving this month! This is your chance to experience first-hand the deep and authentic samurai combat that’s coming exclusively to PS4.
Developed under the direction of Kou Shibusawa, Hisashi Koinuma, and Team Ninja, Nioh will challenge your skill, your patience, and your strategy — can you survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai?
“Ten years have passed since Nioh was originally announced. Even during all that time though, gamers would always ask about it at events like E3 and Gamescom. We always felt support from the gamers around the world for this title.
“Now, finally, Nioh — a game created with the entire power of Koei Tecmo — will be released in 2016. In appreciation to all the fans who have waited so long, and in order to have gamers everywhere try Nioh as soon as possible, we will release the Alpha Demo this month. We hope you enjoy overcoming the challenges in this masocore take on samurai action — Nioh.” – Kou Shibusawa, General Producer
“Set in a time of civil war in Japan, Nioh not only incorporates classic elements such as samurai and supernatural creatures from Japanese folklore, but also offers the exhilaration of an authentic samurai sword fight straight from Team Ninja, the team that defined brutal action games.
“We will give gamers a taste of this all-new experience in the Alpha Demo releasing this month. But it will only be available for a limited time so play it while you can! Players who manage to clear a stage of this the Alpha Demo will be able to download The Mark of the Conqueror DLC. This will entitle you to some special DLC in the full game.
“We also want to hear your feedback on the game! We will hold an online survey while the demo is available so let us know what you think and how we can make it even more fun.” – Team Ninja
The Alpha Demo will be available from April 26 through May 5 only. We hope you enjoy this first glimpse into the world of Nioh, and look forward to hearing what you think about our game!
Koei Tecmo Announces Second Downloadable Demo for Highly-Anticipated Samurai Action RPG, Nioh, Alongside Gripping New Trailer
Koei Tecmo America today announced that its highly-anticipated samurai action RPG, Nioh, will receive a second downloadable demo exclusively for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system. Following the overwhelming success of the Alpha Demo in April—during which more than 850,000 players downloaded Nioh and experienced the game’s intense and compelling gameplay for the first time—the second demo is currently planned for launch in August, with more information on its contents and exact release date to be announced at a later time.
Koei Tecmo America has also released a gripping new trailer alongside a choice selection of assets that reveal a variety of captivating locations, unusual mythical creatures, sinister enemies, and mysterious allies that cross paths with the game’s enigmatic blonde-haired protagonist, William. The short video provides a further glimpse into a world enveloped in mystery and mysticism, hinting at William’s powers and motives as he sets out on a treacherous path that takes him to the far end of the world – to a land of exotic islands torn by civil war and demonic supernatural threats.
A demo of Nioh featuring brand new content will be present at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016 in Los Angeles from June 14 – 16 with more of what everyone loved about the recent Alpha Demo on PlayStation 4: more high-intensity combat, new weapons, never before seen characters, deadlier enemies and a whole lot of challenging gameplay.
Back in April, our team at Team Ninja released the Alpha Demo of Nioh to give you the first glimpse into the game world. In just 10 days, more than 850,000 gamers around the world took up the challenge and we collected valuable feedback through an online survey. Team Ninja has read through the feedback and is working on improvements to the game.
Today, we’re happy to reveal that the second downloadable demo will be available to download and play via PlayStation Store starting August 23 until September 6! After this period, download and play of the demo will be disabled.
With the Beta demo more of the rewarding (yet dangerous) gameplay from the Alpha will be present. A new dojo stage will feature an intense training session which teaches the basics of Nioh’s samurai combat system. Players will also be able to explore a yet-to-be-announced stage.
A selection of new katana, spears, axes, and hammers will be available to collect to uniquely suit a player’s gameplay style. Players will also be able to add a few new weapons to their arsenal as well.
Nioh follows the tale of William Adams as he travels to Japan and becomes a samurai. Players will discover a deep and enticing world that blends history and Japanese folklore. The tough gameplay pits players against daunting and overpowering creatures, and encourages them to learn their enemies’ tactics to gain the advantage in battle.
The protagonist, William, is not alone against the perilous Yokai, as he will be accompanied by a diverse cast of characters who will aid him on his travels across Japan. Hanzo Hattori, the head of a famous ninja clan, is William’s guide through the country. Ginchiyo Tachibana (wife of Muneshige, the head of the Tachibana clan) will also help William on his quest with her skilled fighting abilities.
Scheduled for launch in 2016, Nioh is in development exclusively for PS4.
Chin Soon Sun - Community Manager, Koei Tecmo Europe
• Hanzo Hattori – The head of the ninja clan retained by Ieyasu Tokugawa, serves as William’s guide through the country. Hanzo’s cat is possessed with the long-living spiritual guardian Nekomata, who aids William with his strong knowledge of the supernatural and history of the land.
• Muneshige and Ginchiyo Tachibana – Experienced samurai and leaders of the Tachibana clan, also help William on his quest with their deadly fighting abilities. Both Tachibana leaders possess their own Raiken guardian spirits—creatures which control the element of Thunder—which come together to perform a devastating special attack.
Koei Tecmo America Reveals New Details on Downloadable Beta Demo for Highly-Anticipated Samurai Action RPG, Nioh
Koei Tecmo Games today sheds light onto the dark and beautiful world of samurai action RPG Nioh from Gamescom 2016, revealing new information on the contents of the game’s second downloadable demo exclusively for the PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system. The Beta Demo will be available via the PlayStation Store from August 23 until September 6, after which time the demo will be disabled. Players will have a second—and final—chance to obtain the special, to-be-revealed Mark of the Conqueror DLC, as well as a chance at the all-new Mark of the Strong DLC.
Following the overwhelming success of the Alpha Demo in April—as well as the community’s generous feedback—the Nioh Beta Demo will incorporate a number of gameplay changes made with fans in mind, which will be immediately noticeable upon their return to the village of Usuki. This first stage of the demo will offer new challenges and the opportunity to once again fight for the mysterious Mark of the Conqueror DLC. Warriors who conquered Usuki and procured the DLC during the Alpha Demo won’t be left wanting, however, as they will receive a set of weapons and more starting money. These champions will also have the opportunity to play through the new Nakatsu stage without having to clear Usuki again.
The new Nakatsu stage leads protagonist William along a treacherous mountain path to a deep cave, where he must prevail against human and supernatural enemies alike—including the seductive Hinoenma, a dangerous Yokai under the guise of a beautiful woman. Defeating the Nakatsu stage will award players with the Mark of the Strong DLC, which will be available when the game launches.
The experience gained from the trials of Usuki and Nakatsu should equip the most skilled players for an even more challenging undertaking: the Twilight mission. In this arduous mission, players can re-visit Usuki or Nakatsu, battle against stronger enemies and new fearsome creatures, and earn highly-valued items.
The Beta Demo will also feature a selection of new weapons, including the long-range hand cannon rifle and a fresh selection of Katanas (including dual-wielded Katanas), Spears, Axes and Hammers which will provide new options to suit any gameplay style. In addition, players will get a taste of Onmyo magic and Ninjutsu elements of combat, which add bonuses to William’s attack and can invoke special techniques to provide various effects.
Lastly, to better prepare players for the trials that await, a Training Dojo has been added to the demo. This tutorial stage has been implemented to teach newcomers how to fight with a katana, the most basic yet refined of weapon choices, and how to navigate through the game. The Training Dojo will be available from the beginning of the demo.
To better whet fans’ appetites in the week remaining until the demo launches on the PlayStation Store, Koei Tecmo America has released a series of images taken directly from the Beta Demo alongside a selection of character art illustrating the beautiful and dangerous enemies William has to face, plus a brand new trailer brimming with fresh content and intense scenes!
Action RPG Nioh to be published by SIE, PS4 Pro enhancements detailed
It’s not long until Nioh hits shelves next year and to say we are excited is an understatement! Bringing it to you has taken some work, but we’re happy to announce that Nioh will now be published in partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment across Europe, America and Asia (excluding Japan).
For those of you who didn’t get a chance to try out our alpha and beta demos earlier this year, Nioh is an intricate action RPG built around deep and authentic samurai combat. Gruelling encounters with other warriors and supernatural creatures await you around every corner in this grotesque vision of civil war ravaged Japan. You’ll need to embrace every defeat as a step along the path to victory.
With a title as intense as Nioh, we want to ensure that you are able to tweak the game’s settings to suit your play-style, whether that’s an increased frame rate or higher resolution. Of course, Nioh looks stunning in whatever setting, but the below options will help you fine-tune the game to your liking on PS4:
• PS4, Option 1: “Movie Mode”
This mode focuses on resolution over frame rate, offering beautiful high resolution graphics with stable 30fps
• PS4, Option 2: “Action Mode”
Here the emphasis is on frame rate, providing a stable 60fps
• PS4, Option 3: “Movie Mode (Variable frame rate)”
Finally, this option provides high resolution graphics with a variable frame rate that may go over 30fps.
When played on PS4 Pro however, we’re able to give these settings more of a boost! The options available vary depending on what display you are using (HD or 4K), but we’re delighted to be able to utilise PS4 Pro’s capabilities to offer the following;
• PS4 Pro, HD display. Option 1: “Movie Mode”
Stable 1920×1080 resolution with high quality anti-aliasing at 30fps
• PS4 Pro, HD display. Option 2: “Action Mode”
Stable 1920×1080 resolution at 60fps
Did you get all that? Whatever your set-up and console, we’re excited to provide you a number of different ways to enjoy Nioh. We hope this will allow you to get the most out of this amazing game. Watch this space as pre-orders go live in the coming weeks!

New Nioh DLC Out July 25: Adds New Weapon, Armor, Yokai, Trophies & More
Hey Samurai! It’s Tom from Team Ninja again. Hope you all enjoyed the Dragon of the North release last month. We appreciate the tremendous response from you guys and it’s encouraged us to keep working hard on developing fresh new content for your enjoyment. Having said that, I’m happy to say that we’re putting the finishing touches on our second DLC: Defiant Honor, available from July 25. And I’m really psyched for you guys to jump into this one!
Defiant Honor takes us to Osaka Castle, the largest and most impregnable castle of Sengoku era. This add-on features the legendary warrior Sanada Yukimura, serving Tokugawa Ieyasu’s archenemy Toyotomi clan, who values honor above all else. As tensions brew between the Tokugawa and Toyotomi clans, Sanada Yukimura prepares his men for imminent conflict against the Tokugawa’s forces by building a stronghold called the Sanada Maru on the outskirts of the Osaka Castle. With the castle fortified, Tokugawa’s forces were faced with a difficult and bloody challenge.
In the midst of this chaos, our hero William, accompanied by Date Masamune who fights alongside Tokugawa, heads towards Sanada Maru in pursuit of Maria. It is a bitter winter in Osaka and the stage is ripe for a fierce battle for the ages. Bundle up and get ready for a brutal winter showdown!
This incredible clash would not be complete without providing you with the necessary ammo to wage an intense battle. Therefore, we will be delivering a deadly new weapon Tonfa, new armor, new magic items, guardian spirits and of course brand new Yokai and enemies to test your mettle!
New difficulty levels and Trophies will also be implemented for Defiant Honor. Legendary characters such as Sanada Yukimura who will later be revered as “the greatest warrior of all Japan” are included. All this action takes place within exciting new stages and numerous sub-missions! So, there’s plenty of combat to be held and new challenges to be mastered.
We really hope you’ll enjoy Defiant Honor – available to purchase from PlayStation Store for $9.99, or free if you own a Nioh Season pass. We put a lot into this and we can’t wait for you guys to check it out. So as always, sharpen your blades samurai and good luck defying death!
正如游戏创作总监Tom Lee所言:“This will be one EPIC voyage into hell and back!”
Nioh’s Final DLC, Bloodshed’s End, Launches September 26
I hope you all had a chance this summer to experience the legendary battles of our latest Nioh DLC, Defiant Honor!
In order to keep the excitement alive, we’ve been hard at work on Nioh’s final DLC. It’s called Bloodshed’s End and it’s a perfect way to conclude the final chapter of the bloody Sengoku period.
Our latest adventure picks up where we left off in Defiant Honor. The Siege of Osaka’s winter campaign was put to an end by a peace negotiation between Toyotomi and Tokugawa.
However, conditions were harsh as Osaka Castle lost its secondary and tertiary enclosures, as well as its inner and outer moats, leaving just the main enclosure for the defeated.
Inevitably, this situation led to an uprising and another war broke out just months after the winter campaign. This is the final phase of the Sengoku-era, and the end of William’s journey.
Other than additional main missions, sub missions and Twilight missions, one of the most interesting features of Bloodshed’s End is a new mode called The Abyss. Here, the strongest warriors can test their skills in a perpetual battleground.
This new mode offers epic battles and unique challenges for the most skilled players. We’ll have more to reveal on this mode before launch.
As always, this DLC will provide you with the usual suspects to complete your Nioh experience — new Yokai, new characters, a new difficulty level and new Guardian Spirits.
You have fought well against insurmountable odds, slain countless deadly Yokai, defied death again and again… but there remains one more brutal trial. I hope you will celebrate the final chapter of the remarkable Sengoku era with Bloodshed’s End, launching September 26 for $9.99 (or for free if you own a Nioh season pass).
There’s something for every samurai here, and a few surprises along the way. So jump back into the action, prepare your weapons and keep your Ki levels in check! This will be one epic voyage into hell and back.

Koei Tecmo To Bring Critically Acclaimed Samurai Action RPG To PC This November In Nioh: Complete Edition
Koei Tecmo Games is excited to announce today the upcoming release of celebrated dark fantasy action-RPG Nioh: Complete Edition on PC via Steam. Met with both critical and commercial success during its original console launch, the game telling the story of the blonde-haired swordsman makes its PC debut on November 7 th , 2017 as Nioh: Complete Edition, packed with hours of extra content as it will include the original version of Nioh and all three DLC expansions: ‘Dragon of the North’, ‘Defiant Honour’, and ‘Bloodshed’s End’.
Calling PC gamers to “#DefyDeath”, Director Fumihiko Yasuda comments: “Team Ninja is well aware of the fact that many gamers have been passionately asking for a PC version of "Nioh”. I am thrilled to announce that this massocore game will finally be available for our die-hard PC fans in Nioh: Complete Edition! I hope you all enjoy the unforgettable drama and deeply challenging Yokai battles this action-packed experience has to offer.”
The digital-only PC release boasts stunning high-resolution graphics over two modes as Nioh: Complete Edition can be enjoyed either on ‘Action Mode’, featuring a stable 60fps, or on ‘Movie Mode’, a cinematic option that can expand the display resolution to 4K. These new enhanced graphical modes bring the dark and beautiful world of Nioh to life like never before.
To celebrate the release of Nioh: Complete Edition on Steam, Team Ni ja is offering players a brand-new item, the Dharmachakra Kabuto helmet. The Wheel of Dharma kabuto is a form of "kawari-kabuto"—a family of helmets featuring fantastical designs. This helmet features a red-lacquered front crest of an ancient Buddhist symbol depicting the eightfold path to nirvana. This holy image represents spiritual enlightenment attained by casting off one's worldly desires, and also holds the power to banish evil. However, some claim this is not a Wheel of Dharma at all, merely a replica that looks as though it belongs on a device to regulate steam… Some have gone so far as to suggest renaming it to "Valve Kabuto," but why anyone would make a helmet featuring a valve is unclear…
About Nioh: Complete Edition
Nioh: Complete Edition is a dark, fantasy action RPG, which challenges players to traverse war-torn Japan as a blonde-haired swordsman whose background as a fierce warrior and seasoned knowledge of the blade allows him to survive in the demon-plagued land of the samurai.
